VivirThis girl has absolutely no idea what the Traisa are. How Is that even possible? Everybody knows about the Traisa. Everybody wants them dead.
"Do you at least know what your power is?"
"Umm, no? Should I?"
I sighed. I knew it wasn't her fault, but I still couldn't believe she hadn't discovered her power. All Traisa I'd ever heard of found their powers at a young age, me included. I'd gotten mine when I was seven. "So you don't know anything about the Traisa?" She shook her head. "Then why are you even out here?"
"I, uh, ran away." She glanced over at me "Do you have a power?"
I debated wether or not to show her, I mean, I didn't even know yet if she was really a Traisa. She probably was, but still.... Oh well. It's not like she'd be able to do anything.
As we continued walking aimlessly through the trees, hoping to come across some berries or something, I put my hand out in front of me and with only a small bit of concentration, I summoned my power.
Little by Little, electricity began to form until I had a small ball of electricity on the palm of my hand. It crackled and fizzed as it danced across my fingers. Then in the blink of an eye, I closed my hand into a fist and it was gone.
She just stared at me for a moment, before she began talking. "Wow." She said "Are you saying I'll be able to do something like that?"
"Well, you should have some kind of power. It won't be like mine though. Every Traisa's power is a little bit different."
I watched her as she slowed down and stuck out her hand. An intense look of concentration came to her face. And suddenly, right before my very eyes-
She tripped and fell.
"I didn't expect you to get it right away." I offered her my hand "Until you've discovered your ability, it will be hard to summon it when you want it." She grabbed my hand and pulled herself up.
"Them how to I get a power if I can't summon it?" She asked "What if I don't really have a power? Then what will I do? I can't go back home."
I wasn't exactly sure what had happened at her house after I'd left the bakery, but it couldn't be anything good. "I was seven when I got my power. There was a powerful storm outside, and all the lights went out. I was freaked out, and really scared. It was my first time experiencing a thunder storm. Then my power just came to me. It was dark, and then it wasn't anymore." I still remember that day with perfect clarity. It was the best and worst day of my life. "But even if you don't show your power, you can stay with me."
"Thanks, but where will we go?"
"When I was little, my gramma used to tell me stories about the Traisa. But not the ones they taught me in school. These stories made the Traisa the good guys. She told their side of things, and also of a small village off in the woods. They would go there if they needed help, or just a safe place to stay. I think we should try and find it."
"Do you have any idea where this village is?"
"it's somewhere in the, uh, woods?"
"Do you know how big the forest is? Well never find it."
"Do you know anywhere better to go?"
She paused. "Umm, no."
"Them lets go to the village. I mean, you don't have to come with me if you don't want to, but..."
She sighed. "No, I'll come."
"Want to try heading that-"
Snap
I spin around, facing the direction of the sound. "Who's there?"
Out of the shadows stepped a boy who looked about our age. With him he carried a backpack, and nothing else. What was he doing out here?
