Covering Bruises (On Hold)

I swiftly make my way down the long narrow hallway, smiling to myself as the conversation with Nash replays in my head. he gave me the courage to talk to Cameron, and that is what I'm here to do. 

I stop when I see his room number, and reluctantly knock on the thick wood door. the door opens on it's own, like no one shut it. 

I slip through the opening, and quietly shut it behind me. As soon as my eyes adjust to the minimal lighting, i can see a body sitting on the far bed, head in their hands, back facing me, looking out the large window 

"Cam..?" I ask as quiet as humanly possible. I take a few more steps closer. 

I hear a sniffle, and see him turn his head to the side. "Lex." he says, coming out as more of a sigh. 

I could tell that he had just let his gaurd down, and the coast was clear. 

I walk over to him and stand In front of him, his immaculate brown eyes reflect the street light shining through the window, as he looks up at me. He pats the spot on the bed next to him, and I take a seat. 

As I sit, I feel the tension release all at once. and let out a breath of relief. 

Suddenly I feel an arm around my shoulder, and Cameron begins to cry again. 

"Lex I- I'm just so sorr-" He begins, but I cut him off before he even starts. 

"Shhhhh Cameron. You have nothing to be sorry for, it's okay." I try to settle him, but it doesn't do much, because he just gets more worked up. 

"NO LEX. ITS NOT OKAY. BECAUSE YOURE NOT OKAY" He starts to rage, but I think he sees the shock in my expression, and quickly changes his tone. "I'm your brother, I am supposed to protect you, and make sure that you have everything you need. and I failed..." he was cut off by his sobs once again. 

I sigh deeply and rub his back before starting again. "Yea what he did to me sucked, and no, I would never wish it for anyone else, but I know that IF you had been there, you would have protected me, and kept me safe, and that's all that matters. I trust you Cam, and even though I have only known you for a day, I already know you are a perfect big brother." I smile weakly, and look as his eyes soften. He smiles back and pulls me into a tight hug. 

"Well now I am here, so I promise form now on, I will be there to protect you. okay?"

I smile to myself and hug him tighter. holding onto his shirt, just to make sure he is real, and not giving this moment a chance to slip away. 

"okay." I whisper to myself. Still wondering what I did to deserve a brother like him.

A?N: okayyyy so sorry its been so long since my last update... my other chapter only got 9 votes:( but i was tired of waiting so long, so i whipped this up rq.

Sorry this was kind of a filler while I am working on a huge chapter!!! But this one really needs to get at least 10 votes, bc i need to know if my next chapter will get a lot of reads!!
