fast as his legs could take him, through the alleyways and up the buildings; jumping from the first to the other, almost falling to his death. He was panting as he shielded himself next to the trash, clasping a hand over his mouth while he heard the footsteps coming closer. It was two in the morning and it was as dark as the male's soul. The flashlight shone past him and onto the trash containing, plastic bags, but they had not seen him.
"He's not here, let's go, John," Zachary let out a breath, laying his arms down on the ground. The male caught his breath slowly, scared of the two men coming back. "For fuck's sake," He sighed, standing to his feet and brushing off all the dirt he could from his skinny jeans, before sitting back down; knowing it was pointless. He held the jewelry in his hands, the bag being closed neatly; so nothing could fall out. "God, you were lucky this time," He whispered to himself, wrapping his arms around his own body and pulling the hood of his hoodie over his eyes; he knew, this again, would be a restless night.
"He's there!" The yell made the twenty year old jump from fright, running opposite of where he had heard the voice of the officer come from. Again, he was panting while running wherever he could go. He stopped, completely out of breath. Zach could not run any further, nor move when his head was spinning. Catching his breath, he turned around to be faced with the officer.
"You can't go anywhere anymore, Zachary," John told him, the weapon pointed at his head. The chocolate eyed male sighed, slowly pulling his hands up along his body. As he had reached his head, Zach with no second thoughts, pulled the deathly weapon from the older male's grip. "Yeah, John, nowhere to go," He smirked, the gun being pointed at the blonde, with grayish locks', head.
"Any last words to say?" Zach questioned him, making John look into his eyes with fright. "Calling my daughter would be nice," He mumbled, knowing how Zach had murdered his last victims; he let them have a last word with their family, something Zach had never gotten. "Go ahead," And so John's last words had been 'i love you' said to his seventeen year old daughter, who was now an orphan.
The brunette had sighed, seeing the liquid drop down the male's locks of hair. "Magnificent," Zach whispered, watching the blood fall from his own index finger and thumb. He laughed lightly, wiping John's blood on his jeans.
"No more deaths today," He heard the voice behind him say. The male smirked, looking up and into the eyes of Daniel Seavey, John's partner. "No more deaths today, my friend," Zach nodded at him, swinging the bag of jewelry over his shoulder once more. "Shoot me," The brunette stood there with his arms up, the teasing, handsome smirk on his face while watching the male's hand shake while holding the gun.
"You can't do it," Zach whispered teasingly, walking up to him and taking the gun from the twenty-one year old; Daniel was new in the service and, as everyone could see, he did not have enough training. "See you later, Daniel," Zach laughed, running away from the one year older adult.
Daniel stood there for a few seconds, debating if he should go after the male; he knew Zach could not kill him anymore, that was one of the chocolate eyed's rules; no more than one death per day. "Rest In Peace, Johnny," He placed a kiss to his partner's head, before running after the younger male.
Zach looked back to see the ocean-like eyed running after him, he giggled, fastening his run. As he had turned the corner he saw it, the open window with laughs and light shining through. He bit his lower lip, drawing only the littlest of blood, before looking back again; Daniel was so close to him, reserve gun in his hand. Zach knew with only a look at the adult that Daniel would, this time, kill him with no mercy. "Guess it's my only way," He laughed, running farther away from the male and jumping through the open window without being seen by the ocean eyed.
The curly haired's eyes had widened when the criminal jumped through his window. Jack quickly pulled his adopted daughter behind him, standing before the four year old. "Who is that, daddy?" The little girl questioned while holding onto her father's leg tightly. Zach turned around with a smirk, the weapon in his hand pointed at the twenty-one year old. "Send her away and i won't do you two harm," Jack gulped, turning around and squatting down to look his daughter in her eyes. "Go play, sweetheart. Daddy will see you in a minute, okay?" He had kissed her cheek, pushing her towards the play room softly. "Okay daddy," She had replied, running to her stuffed animals and dolls, with a bright smile.
"W-we don't have m-much money," Jack stuttered, frightened of what the younger male could do. "I don't want money, i have enough of that. I need a place to stay," Zach sighed, his hand brushing through the brown locks. "Somewhere no one can find me and guess what? I've decided that place is here. You listen to me and i won't do your little girl, nor you harm," Jack's eyes were still as wide as they could be, he was frightened of the thought; he definitely did not want a criminal to live with his daughter.
"So, what's your name?" Zach questioned, sitting down on the couch in the small living room. "Jack," Zach hummed, nodding his head at the dark eyed adult. "And your daughter?" Jack looked at the door of the room that contained his daughter. "Ava," He replied, a small smile forming with his lips. "And the name has a story, i suppose," Jack faced the younger male, seeing he had set down the deathly weapon. "Y-Yeah, but it's not my story to share," Zach only hummed, leaning his head back and closing his eyes.
"Dad, i'm home!" They had heard the call, making Zach hide the gun in the back of his jeans, throwing his hoodie over it. "Who's this?" The girl eyed him up and down with a frown. "I'm Zach, it's nice to meet you. You're father has told me all about you," He stood to his feet, taking the girl's hand in his and shaking it as a greeting. "Oh," She looked at her father with a smirk, although he was only seven years older than her, the fourteen year old had, since the male had taken her and her sister in, seen him like her real father.
"So, are you dating? 'Cause then i will be needing to talk to you," She pointed at Zach with a glare. "Actually-" Zach cut him off with a glare, while the young girl looked at her father. "W-we are," Jack finished, frightened of the glare Zach had sent him. "And well we've been together for a while now and he needs a place to stay and well, i thought here could be okay, since he is my boyfriend and you're my daughter and-" The curly haired rambled on until he was stopped. "It's okay dad, he can stay as long as he would like," "Thank you, Charlotte," She had gotten a smile in return, but she hadn't seen it was the fakest smile he had ever given anyone.
