Darkness may fall like a
Tsunami of rain on fresh smooth sand
Soaking the perfection with damp and cold
Darkness may loom over like a curtain of
Oppression, circling the prey; an animal of hunger
The darkness may tug at the bones of the Strong
And crack at them and peel at the skin
Ripping apart the essence of what it is
To be human
Darkness
May break me down
But I dare it to keep me that way
Darkness may break me down
But darkness is not eternal
It is a borrowed form of time
A temporary fiend
A pretentious villain
You can't break me down forever
Come and go
But forever is not a promise
I promise you that
Leave and arrive
But you'll be gone
Before the night thrives
