pt.1:
sunset fantasy when you were mine
upon hazel grazed skies so fine
vodka and cigarettes in the heat
the fine touch of our fingers meet
the late nights and early mornings
the feeling that felt so easy, so right
the clarity you were mine; my love, my life
                              the promise of eternity
the love we felt wordlessly
the pain that held deep so rife
was overcome by your light
and the certainty of knowing
you were mine
my love, my life
                              pt.2:
as i sit on this morning
cool and bright
and i smile to myself thinking of all it has taken
the pain, the hurting, the accepting, the healing
the feeling
as i sit, my friends around me
laughing and i watch and think
this is my life and it will be a good one
i have loved and lost but i will always
have the love, and i won't always lose
i can be happier, i can now choose
i can thank you for everything
i can dance in the sun again
i can run through the rain
and laugh and love
i can love again
i can look forward in hope
i can finally cope
with what is thrown my way
i can close my eyes and smile
to think my delusion was silly
because after all this time
my love my life; was never a boy.
