Chapter 11

{Jack's P.O.V}

We finished collecting the teeth and had returned to North's workshop. Right now, I was in an argument with Bunny about who was better at collecting teeth.

"Well,I doubt a Kangaroo can do better." I snapped.

"Someone who's an ice block certainly can't." Bunny retorted.

"Quit it,boys," Tooth said,pushing us apart. I rolled my eyes and glared at Bunny. Bunny folded his arms and looked away.

I looked around the workshop casually. Suddenly,I caught sight of Ivy sitting by the window. She had traced the outline of a snowflake on the frosted window using her powers and was now hugging her knees to her chest,gazing into the distance. I felt a smile grow on my face but I quickly wiped it off. I wondered what she was thinking about.

I suddenly flashbacked to the time we had spent in Paris.

-Flashback-

"So,looks like Frostbite didn't forget to leave the gifts," Ivy said, smirking.

"Well, it's pretty hard to forget what you say," I replied. Ivy immediately hid herself away and I scratched my head awkwardly,feeling a heat rise to my pale face."Uhh...sorry. Umm...I shouldn't have said that."

-Flashback End-

"Way to embarrass yourself in front of a girl,Frost," I muttered under my breath,pulling my hoodie over my head. I glanced over at Ivy. She hadn't talked to me since then. I looked at the snowflake outline on the window next to her. Was she thinking of...?

"Whatever. She can't be thinking about that..." I told myself before flying out onto a little porch just outside the window of North's workshop. I walked a few steps before plopping down on the porch. The moon was shining brightly and I held my staff close to me.

I stared into the distance and thought.

Even though I had only just met Ivy a few days ago,there was something special about her. She was funny,yes,and kind of playful,like me,but there seemed to be a part of her that was full of sorrow and anger that I hadn't seen yet. I thought about her smile, her eyes, her hair and began smiling like an idiot.

I mentally slapped myself. What the heck was wrong with me? I realized I was frosting up the porch and stepped back immediately. I looked up at the moon.

"Manny, I know I might seem a little confused,but about Ivy...she makes me feel...happy. And she..well,she's funny and all that. I can feel myself blushing sometimes when I see her...but why? Tell me why. Because...I don't understand what I'm feeling right now," I said.

I knew Manny wouldn't answer anyway. He never did...

But it was different today.

I heard a deep voice whisper in my head.

"Soon,Jack. Soon,you'll find out," it said.

I whipped around and looked at the moon. Was it him? It had to be...

But what did I have to find out? And when exactly? I didn't understand.
