Third Person
Snow.
That's all Altea could hear as it crunches under her running feet. Her breath was barley a whisper as she panted in the hurry to find the ones who had been taken. Garroth following behind the girl desperately trying to keep up.
Altea stopped and looked around panting and then kept on running. Garroth stopped his breaths heavy and rushed.
"Altea! Altea wait up!" He called and kept after the younger girl.
Finally the blonde caught up with the girl as she stopped to look around in a clearing.
"Altea! Where are you going?" He asked panting heavily the girl in front of him doing the same.
Altea didn't answer. She was taking fast deep breaths, the cold affecting the energy coursing through her veins.
"Altea! The storm is getting worse, we need to turn back!" Garroth said
Altea didn't turn to face the boy. She kept looking into the trees as her breathing leveled.
"Please Altea! We will never be able to find them!" Garroth said, "Lucinda used a spell! There's no way on Earth we can track them down! I care about them too but were no use if we freeze to death! Altea! Altea.."
His voice faded to Altea. Her eyes were closed and she could only here the soft pants of her breath. No Garroth. No snow. No wind. Nothing but her own shallow breath and soon a heartbeat.
Altea opened her eyes and looked right.
"I can hear him! He's this way!" Altea said and then ran off.
"W-What? Altea, Stop!" Garroth Called our But chased after the girl.
There footsteps crunching the snow filled their ears until Altea stopped. She walked right, then left, never once looking at the blonde boy who had stopped behind her.
"Altea?" Garroth said
"Stop." Altea said and finally turned to him. She then shifted her eyes to the trees and bushes, "someone's here."
"Wha?" Garroth said
"I know you're there! Come out!" Altea called firmly into the trees surrounding the small clearing.
A girl with white hair covering half of her face, and a green eye showed, wearing a red hooded half cloak walked towards them and the crouched infront of them.
"A-A-Altea! Th-This is that girl with the wolves!" Garroth said turning to the girl who had her amber eyes fixed on the woman infront of them.
Altea felt the blood rush to her ears and then narrowed her eyes.
"You had something to do with this..didn't you!?" She said her voice filled with bitterness.
"Altea! You need to leave...you need to leave now!" The girl said
"I won't. I'm going to bring him back." Altea said firmly.
Slight tears glimmered in the mysterious girls eyes as a fearful and sad look came to her face.
"You can't follow him!" She told her
"Please. Stand aside." Altea said
"No! I won't!" The girl shouted.
"Please." Altea said her voice gentle.
"He's gone! Forget about him!" The girl yelled.
Altea clenched her fists and twisted her mouth into a scowl, and narrowed her eyes.
"I will NEVER!" She yelled her voice full of hatred.
"If you continue he- he will kill him! Or you!" The girl said, "don't you understand?"
"What! What in Irene's name is going on?" Garroth said.
"Please! Let me protect you!" The girl said ignoring Garroth.
Altea walked forward and then stared into the girls green eyes.
"Please...he..he's the chain connecting me to this world." She said softly.
"No. No! He'll hurt you! Even though he loved you!" The girl said in frustration.
"Please...Aaron's everything to me..." Altea said her eyes wide.
The two stood facing each other in silence as the snow fell around them and the wind blew making Altea's senses perk up.
"Fine. But please listen to me. I didn't want any part of this!" The girl said, "you have to understand! This wasn't my fault! It wasn't my fault!"
Altea softened her gaze.
"Calm down...it'll be okay." She said comforting the girl.
"Please tell us what's going on?" Altea added taking the girls hand and squeezing it gently, "you can help us."
The girl sobbed as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"Held is understand? Who wants to hurt me, even though the love me? And why did take Aaron?" Altea asked.
"A-Aaron wasn't supposed to come. You were. It was a mess up. A-Aaron saved you..but n-now he's taken." The girl said softly.
"Please..I need to know more to save him, and everyone else." Altea said.
"But..he'll hurt me. He'll hurt my pack." The girl said willing her tears and looking at Altea.
"I won't let him..Now please.." Altea promised, "tell me everything."
"I saw you help the wolf pup he had left for dead. Why? Why did you help the pup?" The girl said.
"He didn't deserve to die. No one deserves to die." Altea said gripping the necklace on her neck, and the one in her pocket.
"You promise to help us?" The girl asked.
"Yes, I promise." Altea said, "please help me find him."
"Altea, Who is She, what's going on?!?!?" Garroth said from behind Altea.
"My name is Tateana, I am...a female, wolf." Tateana said.
"Uhh..werewolf!" Garroth said
"No." Altea said.
"I am not a werewolf! I am a wolf, you understand?!?!?" Tateana yelled tears shimmering in her green eyes.
"What?!?!?!?" Garroth said confused.
"I was once a wolf, a pure blood wolf!" Tateana said, "I ran, I hunted, nature was my home and it accepted me..now it rejects me and the humans I've become!"
"Altea, what do we do??" Garroth said running up closer to the back of the girl.
"Just listen." Altea instructed.
"A man shrouded in black and come to cave we had called home. And one by one..began to slaughter my pack. In desperation to stop him, I threw myself at his feet. He spoke, as I looked up at him, he revealed to me that he was a werewolf. I had never seen a werewolf before, it was frightening." Tateana said, "I begged him I spare my pack..and he did. But he demanded to become alpha in my place, and take control of the pack. It was cruel. Such a cruel way to become alpha, but I gave in. I needed to save my people! He removed an emerald from our cave and then forced me to follow him."
Altea and Garroth stood silently as the story continued.
"He took me to a lodge. Where a man with the eyes of a snake waited. The werewolf handed him the emerald, and with it the snak eyed man created a potion. Then just as it was completed, he handed it to the Werewolf. He turned to me. And used it to transform me into a human. It was the first time I had human legs. It was the first time, I felt so weak." Tateana said.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry you had to go through that" Altea said as she knew the feeling of feeling weak for the first time.
"How could we trust her Altea?!" Garroth said
"I trust her, she needs help" Altea said.
"But he wasn't done with us. The strange werewolf then made us gather more of those...emeralds. Not just ordinary emeralds, but emerald containing traces of raw POWER. But they weren't for the werewolf. They were for the man with the eyes of a snake. The werewolf was just his grunt. The snake eyed man was taking the emeralds to create potions with effects that would last... forever." Tateana said, "he made them.. and even had one teased on his own son! But it failed. Once all the emeralds were mined from the mountain, the snake eyed man left. Leaving the werewolf with us."
"So they were making forget potions...Is that what they used on..my friends?" Altea asked.
"Yes..the werewolf stayed behind and tried to make the exact same forever potions for himself. But he couldn't make them alone. Even with the few emeralds he had..but then you all had showed up and he realized that the orange haired girl, Lu-Lucinda? Could make the potions he desired. How he knew her. I'm not sure but then he saw Aaron." Tateana said.
Altea took deep breaths.
"His blood boiled. But then at the sight of you, he was mixed with anger and something else..but at Aaron. He grew angry at the sight of him. It added just as Aphmau arrived and when he saw the three of you together. He hated it." Tateana said
"Why...?" Altea asked her blood be filed by confusion and anger.
"I don't know. I don't what you three did, but he despises you, and Aaron." Tateana said, "and he wanted you and Aphmau to make Aaron angry. But instead..he got Aaron and Aphmau. He had grown angry at the fail, but then quickly got over it. Knowing that it would affect you."
"I won't let him have both of them!" Altea growled her amber eyes gleaming with hatred.
"Altea! Her eyes, they're Green! Just like Lucinda and Zane!" Garroth pointed out.
"It's not the same.." Altea said, "her scent..it's different than Lucinda and Zane's. They're green for another reason..aren't they?"
"Altea..your acting strange." Garroth said his blue eyes wide with worry.
"Y-Yes. It's from the former potion made to transform me. I'm not controlled by the stranger werewolf. I follow him because he is our alpha. It's what my nature tells me to do." Tateana explained, "and I cannot stop it."
Tateana gasps in pain and faints on to the cold snow. Altea gasps and Garorth yells.
Altea walks over to the girl and goes in shock as Tateana lifts her head.
Her once green eyes were a beautiful dark hazel.
"Her eyes!!" Garroth said stepping back in shock.
"The potion..it's become permanent." Tateana said on the verge of tears.
"What?" Altea says
"These potions. Once the eyes style to their original color..they can never be undone. It means im stuck as a human..Forever!" Tateana informs them.
The three stand in silence until dread falls over Altea. Her eyes grow wide and she takes off running.
"Altea! Wait!" Garroth yells and runs after her.
"Please! Don't go! He will kill you!" Tateana yells, "Please! PLEAAAAAAASE!"
