Chapter 12

MALCOM's POV

Triton swam back and forth annoyed at this new found information. He wasn't born when the insident happened decades ago. It is true. The Lullaby Cove was the most beautiful place on all the seven seas. Enchanted it was. But tragedy stricked when a mermaid made a mistake to jump out of water singing out of joy. Young she was indeed.

But decades ago merfolk could use spells for good and evil. Never the less the Queen in that time made a path to an under water cave. She wanted to make a place for piece and serenity. A place to sit and sing to ones heart. Bring jewelry, diamonds and pearls into the cave. She made pods large and deep with shiny rocks. They would glimmer and sparkle so each pod would never be dark and scary.

She made a bright ball mimicking the sun and used her enchanting powers to mimic sky and clouds. She used the triton to make the cave beautiful and spacious. Back then merfolk could go from salt to non salt waters. With no problems. The cave was perfect for merfolk to go and sing and be out and about. No fear. Even made illusions of birds in it. Fishes and sea plants started to grow in the magnificent place.

My great great great grandfather followed her into her cave. Where she would add detail and expand it. Using enchanted on the walls. How many times she sang the walls never shook. Her voice echoed all around and no sound could be heard from the outside. She sang as loud as she could and still the cave stayed the same. Great great great Grandfather smiled at her cave. Amuzed he was back then.

She worked on it for months until it was ready but she spotted my great great great grandfather already sitting down. Looking at her work. A smile on his face. Back then the Queen had lost her husband in a pirate war. He tried rescuing his children. But canon balls got to him and his children. Leaving her alone and broken she filled her greef and sorrow in making the cave for her departed family.

It is written down in the last pod the whole tragedy in that cave. Nobody has been able to read it because of the bad presence in it. After that magic was banned when the Prince became King. My great great grandfather. His heart broken but never knew what actually happened to his father and mother in that cave.

Lullaby Cove last fifty years before tragedy struck. After that nobody ever dared to mention the path to their children and their grandchildren. Five hundred years have passed and Moisha. My beloved dolphin had found the path luckily when I spotted that human following her I followed in persuit. Surprised that the Dolphins new of Lullaby Cove.

Humans know it as the Cavern of Lullabies. Or the Cave of Melodies. Normally they made it into a myth that once you find it. Enter it a mermaid will a wait you and grant you one wish. Or made it into a horror for bad children. Parents leave their children near the Cave of Melodies so the mermaids can drown them and eat their flesh.

Humans are the comical beings one earth. We leave for more than hundred years but if reckless then live less. Triton here though has live a hundred and fifty years. That happened in the year 1522. This era 2022 humans have gotten stupeder each decade. Though still can't believe how time flies for them.

My mind snapped out as Melody started crying. Triton swam to her and picked up as he swayed her gently in his arms. Big strong buff man being gentle with a small little baby.

"What do we do?" Triton asks me as he looks worried

"I will take a few of my men and train for in case... We shall go to the last pod to find information... To the tragedy decades ago" I explained myself as I swayed my tail side to side

He sighs out as he looks back at a laughing Melody "Do you think Moisha will come back?"

"Yes... She is worried about you and Melody though she doesn't speak it... I can see it" I tell her as I place my hand on his shoulder

"Thanks Malcom... Have you spoken to Bruce yet?" He asked me calmly getting back on track

"Yes... He is trying to gather up information from the Dolphins... He is as confused as we all are..." I answered lightly as I looked down

He sighs out and I saw how placed Melody back while letting her do bubbles with her mouth "Gathar as much information as you can... If there is something evil in that Cavern I will seal it up before it even has the chance to escape..."

I agreed with my head I bowed and I swam of. Three great white sharks behind me. I sighed out as the three got to my side. All worried but terrified of me. Back then it was the opposite. They would challange me to be able to eat my flesh. But in the end each challange ends up with them dying.

Merfolk in cities are off limits normally Triton hands me death row merfolk. Sharks are happy with that though. I don't care if they attack humans and so on. Just merfolks in particular. They got attached with me and they are happy sharks know.

"Sir... Is something the matte?" Teeth asked me

I sighed again feeling confused "Just confused... Finally found Lullaby Cove but theres a really bad aura at the last pod... Its like... Whatever the Queen decades ago wanted to hide... Used a type of enchantment to actually hide it..."

"Lullaby Cove... My ancestors passed down stories of that... It is said that sharks back then fled from a certain mermaid... She got angry and started killing... Not even our kind would get near her... Nobody saw her after she went into the cave" Stalker tells me a bit afraid

"Even to the oceans current of this day... No shark goes near an unknown cave... Only our growth caves... Where we know there are others of our kind" Fang tells me as he swam much farther

New information. When I reach our cave I should write it all down. I have great memory. We swam faster and deeper. Boats are around and none of us want to get stuck on any neck. Nor giant hook. Nor killed by an ankor. The only thing I want to keep in my mind right know. It will make me sleep tonight.

Is Moisha staying safe.
