KATE'S P.O.V

Afternoon.  Camp time!

I packed some stuff as fast as I can, texted Mom, then asked Dad to drive me to the camp.  Yes, he loves me that much.  He will be going to the office later, because he wanted to drive me first.  I can't say no, so let him.

"Be good at the camp, sweethearts.  Call me and your Mom sometimes."  Dad opened the door and let me out.

"Sure Dad.  Be good at home too."  I laughed.

"Let's see.  I spend 350 days in a year by myself."  He pinched my nose.  "I'll be fine.  You take care.  And text me when to pick you up next week."

"Alright.  See you Dad, I love you."

"I love you more, Katie."

"Dad, my name is Kate."  I rolled my eyes playfully.  Dad knows I don't like to be called Katie.  Well.

I walked further inside the camp and met a woman around Mom's age, maybe a bit younger.  She must be the camp leader.  I used to text her everyday when I was in New York for registration.

"Hey, my name is Kate Simpson."  I said politely.

"Hello, how you doing?  Let me check first...  Simpson...  Simpson...  Ah!  Found it.  Miss Kate, welcome to the youth camp!"  She welcomed me.

"Well thank you Ma'am."

"Your last name is interesting.  Like..."

"Cody Simpson?  No.  Unfortunately it's just a name, not blood related."  I laughed.

"Haha.  Good sense of humor.  As you might know, my name is Liz.  And I'll help you with everything.  First up, your room.  This way."

She showed me the way to the dorm.  It's like a house with 3 rooms in it.  And we have like over 10 houses in this area.  Pretty big.  Pretty many people.  And that's the hardest part, when I have to blend with the rest and make friends.  Hard.  So hard.

"How do you like the room?"  Liz shocked me.

"Oh!  Uh...  Pretty good.  Comfy, I love it."  I cleared my throat.

"Good.  So, I guess I'll leave you alone?  Make sure to be at the front house by 6.30 later, alright?"

"Thank you so much Liz!"

"Pleasure!"  She tossed the paper in the air then left me.

Alright.  I didn't feel like unpacking things.  I don't need to.  I'm the one who can manage my stuff well done in a small bag, so I guess I'm good.  Instead of unpack, I chose to lie down for a while, tried to shut my eyes.

"Shania, this is your room.  There's another girl in that room, her name is Kate."  I heard Liz's voice again.  New gal?

"Thanks Liz."  This one girl said thank you or something.

I stood up, prepared myself to say hi.  I was the first who got it here, so I need to be kind.  Right?  Right.  Uhm.  Here we go.

"Hey..."  I opened my door and found her unpacking some stuff with the door opened.

"Hey."  She turned around and gave me the widest smile.  "I am Shania.  You're...uh, hang on, Kate?  Right?"

"Haha yeah, thanks for guessing my name.  I'm Kate, hello."  I walked further to her room.  "May I?"

"Sure!  Come on in."

Shania let me come into her room.  She's a bit different than me.  A bit girly, beautiful girl.  I kinda love her already, I can tell you.
