I can't imagine life without her, I don't think I ever will, and I don't plan to--
"Oof!" I grunted and lurched forward at the impact of something quite firm against the back of my head. "What the hell was that for Dom Dom!" I snapped out of my nostalgic riverie, and turned to my free couple of friends during lunch.
"The first one was for spacing out when I was talking to you about GTA 5 and my speech about the 'grand misadventure of '14'. And don't call me that again."
"That was for blanking out when I was asking you about how to ask girls out. 'Cause you seem so cool talking to chics like Avery." piped in Matt Jefferson, Dominic's, or 'Dom's', a year younger than his eighteen year old brother.
Oh, that.
I paused, both in preparation for what I was going to say next and just to see the anticipation in Matt's eyes.
"Matt, even if I was lost in a zombie apocalypse, and you and Avery were the only ones left, I'd rather shoot you in the head than tell you anything about Avery... and the other chicks." I added so as to not make myself sound overly defensive.
"Kai," he grumbled loudly, and continued to plead. "Come on, you're the guy that's the closest to Avery, and that means that you have a chance to get into their group. I just want to have what you have with Avery. You have appeal and you're a hell of a lot smoother than my brother."
"Hey! I feel cut, little brother, I feel cut." He interrupted, feeling the burn to his pride.
"I may be, but shut up you liar, you just want to get into her pants." I knew for a fact that all he wanted to do was to hook up with any of them, not only just for his benefit, but for suceeding in the 'brotherhood quest', a game with the school guys containing the royalty douchebags and nerds alike to complete even vulgar challenges like those, in order to gain 'brotherhood alliances', and gain fame within the alliance for nailing or kissing any of the five hardest chics to get. I was one of the very select few who were exempt from the current challenge. But I also knew about his little crush on Avery and the things he'd been trying to do to get closer to her. I don't think he knew about my relationship with her. I wasn't gonna let him go that easily.
"Wha-, how could you-, why would you think that?" He muttered innocently.
"Well, if you want..." His eyes perked up at a possible phrase that could give him hope. I controlled the muscles in my face before my grin would pull into an evil smirk.
"You could practice with your brother, he's practically the male version of my- I mean, the melodramatic Avery."
Dominic face palmed and sighed heavily. "I'm pretty sure, that you don't know of the whereabouts of my existence, which is right here guys!"
"Dick." He weakly retorted, childishly.
"Well at least you know I have one." I winked, when the bell signalled the end of the break and somewhat broke the argument.
We muttered our brief goodbyes and we turned around to the opposite direction of our adequately large school, but not before finishing with my last remark, "Hey Matt! I'll tell you at least something!"
"What?" I questioned irritatedly.
"It's important to take care of your girl's pride, so make sure to take care of baby Dom's feelings okay!"
"Go to hell!" Came a lovely duet and I was greeted with the very beautiful sight of a middle finger, at which I couldn't not laugh histerically at.
Dominic absolutely hated that nickname, and the only person that he'd ever allow to call him 'Dom Dom', or 'baby Dom', was his mother. His mother very rarely called him by his full name and had adapted his ever so affectionate nickname, because I quote, "it suited him perfectly then and still now because he's so darn cute.". As a kid, he could never say his name right, making the use of his nickname even more frequently used. He did well to hide it and even forced his brother to swear to him never to let his stupid nickname known, until just a few months ago when his mother called him that on loudspeaker, while he was driving. And alas, our crew heard it.
