Three years had passed since he had gone missing. No one at school had wanted anything to do with his disappearance and pretended it hadn't happened which was fine with him. Though anytime he went to find a key Izuku did have to tell his mum where he was going to which she would occasionally accompany him.
After what happened with Aries he had begun finding more keys but he wasn't sure if those of the spirit world wanted him to find the keys or he had become more attuned to finding them after his stay. Either way he wasn't complaining since it meant he had more friends. In addition to the keys he previously had contracts with, he could now summon Cancer, Gemini, Crux, and Horologium.
Currently he was on his way to school, or was, when a villain with a transformation type quirk held up the train and with it everyone who needed to get somewhere. Izuku, scrambling to get to the front, pulled out one of his notebooks and began writing the details of the villain's quirk. A hero showed up, Kamui Woods, and Izuku was pushed out of the way in favour of the many fan girls and boys who wanted to declare their love. Just as Kamui Woods was about to capture the villain a new heroine, Mount Lady, made her debut. The fight was over then and the crowd began to disperse but Izuku stuck around to get some details on the property damage the new heroine caused.
It was only a few seconds that he managed to avoid getting detention, though he still got a warning about not being late. He took it in stride and nodded. Classes continued on as normal after that until the last class of the day where they were filling out applications for the high schools they wanted to go to. Izuku knew that even if he didn't get into a hero program, he did have some of the highest if not the highest test scores in the class and could theoretically apply to any general course he wanted. With this information he put 'UA' as his first choice since they had the best heroic and general studies courses in the country. His second pick was Shiketsu high as they also had a great heroics course, and an okay general education. Lastly he decided to put Ketsubutsu as his final school of choice. He handed in his form and waited till everyone else had done the same.
His mind began to wonder off as the other students began to hand in their own high school choices. Maybe should ask Cancer to cut his hair as it was becoming a little long. Maybe he'd let the spirit try something new.
"Huh, Midoriya also put down UA as his top pick." Izuku started from his thoughts at the teacher saying his name just in time to see Bakugo snarl.
"You think your weird stupid quirk can compete with mine?" Bakugo yelled, explosions crackling to life.
"No, UA is just a really good school not just for heroics." Izuku replied, only a little anxious.
"Enough you two or you'll both get detention." The teacher injected before Bakugo could continue. It did stop Bakugo who went back to fuming in his own seat.
The end of school bell rang shortly after that and and all the students began to pack up, except for Izuku who instead pulled out his hero analysis note book and began to write more about the fight he'd seen this morning. That was until Bakugo stole the note book he was writing in.
"I'm only going to say this once, keep yourself and you little minions away from UA or you'll regret it." Bakugo finished with his hand, the one currently holding Izuku's notebook, exploding.
He let out a sigh. "Bakugo. Threatening harm, use of a quirk in a public space with out a license, and intentional destruction of someone else's property. You could get in real trouble doing things like that. I'm not sure any hero schools would accept someone with a background like that into their hero courses." Was the flat response he gave.
Bakugo fumed and slammed what was left of the note book on the desk before storming off. Looking at the note book it looked like it could be salvaged but he'd probably just rewrite everything on it an new note book when he got home. With another sigh, he packed the book away and headed off towards home.
On the way he kind of hoped he'd feel the tug of another key but alas, there was nothing. He let out another sigh as he passed under a bridge on his usual route home. The next thing he knew he was inside Horologium, the spirit protecting him from a green sludge that had appeared from the sewers. Not long after Leo appeared and used Regulus Impact, scattering the slime in the process. Now that Izuku wasn't in immediate danger, the spirits returned to their own world.
Izuku was still processing what has just happened when another figure shot up from the sewer system. "Fear not for I am here." He knew that voice, it was All Might! The hero looked around to see Izuku and the discarded sludge before giving a reassuring smile. "You must have one great quirk to protect yourself with. You would make a great hero."
"All Might! Can I please have your autograph?" Izuku asked, pulling out a newer note book and a pen.
"No problem my boy." All Might laughed before signing his name large enough to fill two pages. "I will get to cleaning up this villain, you should head home before your family gets worried."
Izuku nodded with enthusiasm and began trotting home, wanting to tell his mum about his meeting with All Might. Maybe he'll leave out that part if him being attacked, its not like there was any news coverage so there was no way she'd find out anyway. He didn't want to worry her too much after all.
