Tabby lunged forward at me and grabbed my hair pulling me down towards the closet floor. We wrestled for a moment until we both kinda gave up and sat there panting and pulling each others hair. "You killed my father", Tabby screams in my face as she tugged my hair harder. I could feel her spit splattering across my nose, I cringed and slowly wiped it off with my free hand. "What are you talking about," I said breathing hard. "The fire", Tabby yelled in my right ear. I pushed her away from me and tried to stand up from my knees. Tabby stood up just as fast and shoved me back into the closet. I could hear the clothes hangers clanking as I braced myself and lost my balance, "When was this going to end?", I thought to myself as I recovered from being pushed. "I'm done playing with you!" Tabby screamed as she punched me in my face, Right above my cheekbone on the left side. I felt the blow and it stunned me for a few seconds as my vision went white. We started to fight yet again, This time outside of the closet. I could feel my fist pounding her bare skin, I knocked her into the dresser and felt overcome with rage.
I knew this wasn't over and I needed to do something fast. Tabby tackled me down to the floor. She plunged herself on top of me and began choking me. I could feel her hands gripping my throat tighter and tighter. I tried to let out a scream but couldn't. I was defeated. I slashed my arms around trying to frantically escape from her hold, It was as if I was a dying fish out of the water. Tabby screamed, "I hate you!". I was losing air, I was dying. I could imagine my face turning blue as I gave up fighting her, My eyes rolled to the left and I could see that stupid cat clock sitting there next to me. The clock must have been knocked off the wall during our brutal fight. I gathered what energy I had left and grabbed for the clock. I smash the clock into Tabbys puffy red face, She was stunned and immediately quit choking me and let out a cry from the pain. I felt the rush of oxygen swoosh into my lungs. I took in a deep breath and scooted my body halfway up and smacked her with the clock again, This time it knocked her back. Tabby groaned in pain and quickly held her face, I felt an inner rage and threw the clock at her chest, Then I punched her in her face. The punch felt good, I felt like I was defending myself and she wasn't going to win, Not this time! Tabby went down towards the floor and I knew this was my chance to run.
I bolted for the bedroom door and never looked back. My legs felt numb as my feet pounded on the staircase steps. What was I going to do? "Think, Amber, Think!" I frantically grabbed the front doors doorknob and twisted the door open jerking my body through the old Townhouse doorway. I ran, I could feel the tears filling up in my eyes as the old dirty driveway became blurry. I couldn't help but think "That damn cat clock" saved my life as I ran to the only place I knew, My Grandmothers house. The house was quiet and I knew no one was there, I jiggled the front doors doorknob anyways.
I quickly found a small rock laying by the front porch. The rock was small but was just what I needed to break the glass out of the doors window pane. The front door was made out of wood and painted White to match the rest of the siding of the house. Lucky for me it had two vertical window panes that ran inside the middle of the door. I smashed the rock through the window pane on the right side of the door, The glass shattered loudly and fell to the ground. I reached my bruised hand through the chipped broken glass and thought to myself, "Grandma would kill me if she saw this!" I unlocked the door from the other side and flung the newly vandalized door open as fast as I could. My hand burned, I could tell I must have scratched it on the broken glass but I didn't care at that moment, I was mentally numb.
I quickly started to push my Grandmother's living room bookcase shelf against the broken glass door. I could hear the glass crunching under my feet. The bookcase was wood and heavy and made a screeching noise as it slid across the wooden floor beneath us. I leaned my back against the bookcase to apply pressure to it. I didn't know what my next move was, I didn't know what Tabbys next move was either! I began to sob into my hands, This was too much for me, This was crazy! The blood from the cut on my hand smeared across my cheek and I knew Tabby was coming, I could hear her yelling my name through the broken window of the door. She was near Grandma's garden, I could hear her panting and breathing hard. "Amber!" Tabby roared out as If she was the one being attacked. I could hear the psychopathic grunts escape her mouth as she walked closer to the front door. "Do you really think that's the only way in the house?" Tabby said with a maniacal tone of voice. I took a deep breath and pushed harder on the bookcase as Tabby tried to push the door open from the other side.
