"Recollection"
What if you woke up each day
With a clean slate
With no recollection
Of the previous day's events
Or an idea of your identity
What a great life that would be
With no lingering regrets
Or mistakes
Or hardships
Living each day like it's your last
Because each day is a lifetime
And each night brings a new one
But how lonely that life would be
For there would be no one to share
Those spontaneous moments with
Or your exciting achievements
Or your daily discoveries
Oh, how lonely it would be
To live without knowing love
For we can't appreciate the good
Without experiencing the bad
And we can't acknowledge the bad
If we don't remember
