"All the walls I had built around myself suddenly crumbled down, and that was just by looking at you again."

"How is life, Jen?" Nayeon asked, as she gave Lisa a piece of meat and served Yeri also.

"Fine, I guess. Getting a name in the business is really a bit tiring." Jennie said, determined not to mention her failed arranged marriage with the jerk.

"I heard you have a new stage name now. Ruby Jane, is it?" Nayeon said, getting the hint as the bunny stared at Jennie's anxious eyes.

But Lisa didn't give a damn about how anxious Jennie was, or didn't even notice it as she still didn't know the news about their failed marriage.

"So how is life with Jongin Oppa, Jennie unnie?" Lisa said, laced with a mocking tone as she casually sipped on her ice tea while looking subtly at the older.

'You don't have to answer, Jennie.' Nayeon implied through her eyes, but Jennie smiled, a genuine one for the first time in a year as she locked gazes with Lisa's.

"We're divorced, and I'm single now. The records that the marriage even existed is gone, the articles about us back then deleted." Jennie casually said, as she didn't notice Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, Yeri, and Mina's wide faces and gasps, her eyes still had its gaze locked on Lisa's doe eyes.

"So that was why Nayeon unnie was so rushed in getting you to live in our dorm? I thought you and Jongin Oppa just had some argument, and then you were complaining about how--" Mina said but was interrupted, as Nayeon put a piece of meat on her mouth.

"About what?" Irene asked, curious.

"Nothing. Just some complications about modelling." Jennie said, glaring playfully at Mina while the girl showed her gummy smile.

"Alright, I'm done. Just let me know when you guys are done, let's go watch a movie!" Wendy said in straight English, as Mina unnie nodded while translating it for some others.

"Let me wash the dishes, Irene unnie." Jennie said, and grabbed the kitchen gloves, but Lisa had been the first to do so, so Jennie just asked Seulgi for an extra pair of kitchen gloves, and helped the tall girl wash the dishes.

The whole chore was done in silence, the two waiting for each other to speak.

"Lisa." "Jennie."

Jennie smiled at that, but then kept a straight face as she looked at Lisa.

"You go first, unnie." Lisa said, a hint of coldness in her tone.

"How are things with you, Lisa?" Jennie asked, as she kept a genuine smile on her lips.

"Fine, I guess." Lisa said shortly, as she removed the gloves from her hands, drying them off and putting them in the rack.

"I'm sorry if I--"

"No apologizing. What's done is done, and I forgave you already. You know I'm not the one to hold grudges, but you getting a divorce or you still married here won't change what I would do when I see you." Lisa said, looking intently at the cat eyed girl.

"W-Wae--"

Lisa put her lips on Jennie's, slowly moving in a slow tempo that sent Jennie crazy, the kiss sending her insane like before, when they were crazily in love with each other.

Jennie kissed back, but groaned when Lisa pulled away, and without a word went up to Red Velvet's dorm's movie room, where the others were waiting for them.

Jennie's finger went up to her lips, a bit swollen from the kiss. Her cheeks went red from thinking about what happened, as her mind began to form questions in her head.

What was that?

"Bye, Irene unnie, Seulgi unnie, Wendy unnie, Joy unnie, Yerimiee!" Lisa said, determined to go home, but Jennie dragged her into the nearby convenience store, after the cat eyed girl said to Nayeon and Mina that she will go home late.

From the jolly and happy person before, Lisa turned cold again, as she offered to pay for the two pieces of ramyeon that Jennie ordered for the two of them, as they were having this 'talk'.

"What is it we are talking about, Jennie unnie?" Lisa said, as she took a mouthful of the ramyeon.

"About that." Jennie said.

"About what?"

"Stop feigning ignorance, Lisa! Why did you kiss me?"

Lisa smiled, and leaned in as she put a kiss on the older's lips, and another, and another, until Jennie had to push her away hard, as her flustered self glared at Lisa.

"Lisa!" Jennie shrieked, as Lisa laughed loudly, causing Jennie to slap her hard on her shoulder.

"What was that for? Ow!"

"Why did you kiss me, Lisa?!" Jennie said, now angry.

"Because I was clarifying something, and I was right." Lisa said, while taking another mouthful of the ramyeon.

"Right about what?" Jennie said, as she slurped down the last serving of the ramyeon.

Lisa smiled and ruffled Jennie's hair, then went to the trashcan and disposed of their trash, and smiled again.

"That my heart is still beating fast whenever I see you, that our kisses still make me insane and wanting for more."

**********

Damn that Jennie.

Lisa sat on the balcony of her condo unit, a lit cigarette in hand as she smoked her stress away, but it didn't go away as she had hoped.

Lisa hadn't intended to be that whipped at meeting her ex again after a year.

All her self control, telling her not to be kind or kiss Jennie vanished when they had locked eyes on the lunch earlier.

All the walls she had built around herself for protection the past year had all been broken down easily by just one locked gaze, and she was having her hard time for it.

Lisa knew she should clarify not only her feelings, but her and Jennie's state now.

What was stopping her from admitting that they should get back together?

Pride, maybe?

Or the fact that Lisa had been broken and dented beyond repair by the events that happened a year ago?

Whatever it was, Lisa figured out that it was the fear of getting hurt again that was stopping her from fully opening herself again.

Lisa wanted assurances. She wanted a safe bet, a safe ending to her story.

And she knew a gamble of love with Jennie Ruby Jane Kim was a very dangerous one.
