Chapter 6

Hide's P.O.V.

I woke up with the sun shining over me and warming my skin. I groaned before nuzzling my nose into something that I had my arm around. It was warm, smooth and a little soft. I pulled away to see what it was, and blushed when I saw it was Kaneki. He was still sleeping when I realized we were naked, but covered by the blanket. Then last night went through my head before I blushed harder. Our clothes were scattered around his bedroom floor. Our glasses were on his nightstand. Kaneki was holding my hand against his chest with his other arm under his pillow. He was softly breathing and his black hair was a little messed up.

I tired to get my arm out of his hand, and almost did before he held my arm against his chest again. He let out a little grumble when he did that. I sighed before laying my head behind his again. I just laid there and waited for him to wake up. An hour passed and he still didn't wake up. I pushed myself up on my forearm before looking at his peaceful sleeping face. But I needed him to wake up. So, I started to gently shake him and he only groaned.

"Kaneki, wake up." I said but he still didn't wake up. I pouted before coming up with an idea. I leaned down and put a small kiss on his neck. He moved a little but still didn't wake up. I continued to plant kisses on his neck and he still wouldn't wake up. He let my arm go and I wrapped my arm around his waist. I moved the kisses up to his shoulder, just above his tattoo. He groaned after a couple more kisses and opened his eyes. Then he turned his head to look up at me.

"Hey..." He said before yawning and rubbing his eyes.

"Do you remember last night?" I asked as he stopped rubbing his eyes.

"Yeah, we weren't drunk."

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, just a little sore." He said before rolling over and wrapping his arms around my torso. He nuzzled his nose into my bare chest as I blushed. I wrapped my arms around him and nuzzled my nose into his hair. "I just want to lay down and cuddle for a little longer."

"Okay." I said with a bit of nervousness in my voice.

"Why are you so nervous? You're acting like it's your first time waking up to someone." He said as I felt him smirk against my chest.

"I know, it's not my first time waking up to someone. It's just a little unexpected because we only been on one date."

"Alright." He said before sighing. We just laid there and held each other in our arms. It felt nice to hold him close to me like this. But we eventually had to get up. "Okay, I have to get up. I need to get ready and go get Ichika form her uncles' later today." He said as he pulled out of my arms and sat up before turning around and let his legs hang over the edge of the bed. I sat up to and still had the blanket over my waist. He got his boxers and put them on before reaching for his shirt. He had a tattoo on his back, it was a red flower with Ichika Kaneki in thin black cursive across and under the stem.

"When did you get that one?" I asked.

"Huh?" He said as he looked over his shoulder at me. He was just about to put his shirt on. "The tattoo on my back? I got it when Touka was pregnant with Ichika. We found out we were having a girl and choose the name we liked the most. Because Ichika's my little flower." He said before putting his shirt over his head and pulled it down to cover his back. Then he stood up before walking to the bedroom door. But stopped before putting his hand on the frame and turning around to face me.

"I'll be in the kitchen making breakfast. You can get dressed." He said.

"Okay." I said before he smiled and left, he closed the door behind him. I sighed before moving to the end of the bed and bent down to get my boxers and putting on my glasses. I put them on before standing up and walking to get my pants. I put them on before finding my white undershirt and put it on. I found my button up shirt and put it on before buttoning some of the buttons. I found my socks before walking out of the room.

Kaneki was in the kitchen and making beacon. My jacket was on the floor next to the door and so was his. I got my jacket and put it on the couch along with my socks. I went to the kitchen where Kaneki was. He was at the stove and I wrapped my arms around him. He jumped a little but relaxed before I rested my chin on his shoulder.

"I guess it's not your first time waking up to someone after getting divorced. Because of how you're acting." I said after a couple minutes.

"It is actually. I didn't focus on my love life after getting divorced because I had Ichika to take care of. And maybe bringing someone new into the apartment after just getting rid of her horrible mother, wouldn't be good for Ichika."

"So, is it a bad thing at I asked you on a date?"

"No, it's not. Ichika actually seems to like you. I'm going to make eggs after this. How do you like your eggs?"

"Scrambled, I guess."

"Okay, you can sit at the table until it's done."

"Alright." I said before letting him go and sat at the table. After he got done making breakfast, he brought two plates to the table and gave one of them to me. I had bacon and eggs while he had bagel and cream cheese and bacon. We ate in silence, but it was comfortable. When we were done, he got dressed before he waved me off as I left his apartment to go home. He was smiling. I couldn't help but love that smile.

The reason why I choose to have Kaneki to have Ichika's name tattooed.
Is because my dad has my name tattooed on his chest.
And I thought it would be nice if Kaneki had that too.
