Chapter 14

A week later...

Hide's P.O.V.

Kaneki was released from the hospital and was resting at the family house. I went over, since it was a Saturday, and hung out with them. We were all talking and laughing, not Yomo though, with each other as Ichika watched a documentary on the living room TV. Until Kaneki's phone started to ring. He picked up his phone and looked at it before looking annoyed.

"I have to take this." He said before standing up and walking outside to stand on the back pouch. We just waited on him to come back, you could sometimes hear him talking from inside. He wasn't shouting, but he still sounded angry. After a few more minutes he came back inside, still annoyed. Maybe even more.

"Who was that?" Ayato asked.

"Your beloved sister." Kaneki said as he sat down on the couch again.

"What was she calling about? Hopefully she called to ask if you were okay after the surgery."

"Nope, child support problems. And how it's my fault because I have full custody of Ichika, so she has to pay the child support. But I should be paying it while she has custody of Ichika, because I'm a man and she's the mother. Even after she hurt Ichika."

"What did you have to say about it?"

"Basically told her in the nicest way possible, over my dead body you're getting Ichika. And even if I do die she would go to you and Yomo. If something happens to the both of you, then she goes to her god mother's house. She is not going to her mother."

"You're not going to say anything about this Hide?" Ayato asked. I was just sitting there.

"No, it's a family drama. I probably shouldn't get involved. And I still don't have a full idea about what happened." I said.

"Alright." Ayato said we just stayed there for the rest of the day. But when night came, Kaneki, Ichika, and me went to their apartment for the night.
