Chapter 13

A couple days later...

Hide's P.O.V.

Ayato had taken Kaneki to the doctor, and they found out what was wrong after they had him have a few more scans. He was suffering from a stroke that blood clot that was in his upper back, almost in his shoulders, caused. And they said they can fix it with some surgery. He was going to have his surgery today and I was bringing Ichika to see him before the surgery, I wanted to see him too.

Me and Ichika got to the hospital before getting to the front desk.

"How may I help you?" The lady said when we got there.

"Were here to see Ken Kaneki." I said before the lady typed something on her computer.

"The one whose going to have surgery in half an hour?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Are you two family?"

"She's his daughter and I'm his boyfriend."

"Alright, he's in room 302."

"Thank you."

"Welcome, sweetie." She said before I held Ichika's hand, so I wouldn't lose her, and went to Kaneki's room. She continued to nibble on her other hoodie sleeve. We got to the room before I knocked and opened the door. After I opened the door I saw Kaneki laying on his left side on the hospital bed, he was wearing a hospital gown and an IV. Ayato was sitting next to Kaneki's bed and Yomo was sitting in the corner, but they all seemed to be talking to each other before me and Ichika walked in.

Ichika let go of my hand and jogged over to Kaneki. She got on her tip toes and sort of hugged him and he put his hand on her cheek and played with her multicolored hair a little bit.

"Hey, sweetheart." He said before he let go of Ichika and started to sit up.

"Kaneki, are you sure you should sit up?" Ayato said.

"I'm sure, I just can't lay on my back. Can you help Ichika up here?" He said.

"Yeah." Ayato said before helping Ichika onto the hospital bed. Kaneki was sitting up and had Ichika sit in his lap, he still had the hospital blanket over his legs. After she sat in his lap, she snuggled into his chest and Kabeki wrapped his arms around her before resting his chin on her head and rocking a little. I pulled a chair next to the hospital bed before we all talked to each other.

Of course after awhile a few nurses came to get Kaneki for the surgery. Kaneki gave Ichika a kiss on the head before she got off his lap and Ayato helped her off the bed. Then Ichika, Ayato, and Yomo left the room. I was about to leave when Kaneki tugged on my arm.

"Can I have a kiss? For good luck." He said with a blush.

"Yeah." I said before he smiled. I leaned down before he held my chin in his hand. Then we moved closer and our lips met.

"Alright, come on you two love birds before you start making out." Ayato said as we pulled away and look at him. He was probably wondering where I was. Both me and Kaneki were blushing.

"Sorry." Kaneki said.

"Just come on Hide." Ayato said before walking out of the room again.

"Bye." I said.

"Bye." Kaneki said before I started to walk away, slowly letting his hand go, like I did in the parking lot. When I was out of the room, the nurses went in and I went to Ayato, Yomo, and Ichika. We had Yomo take Ichika to the house while me and Ayato stayed at the hospital until Kaneki's surgery was over. Because Ichika would get bored and restless. Me and Ayato were currently sitting on a bench outside the surgery room, the light above the door was red.
