C.1 | The Incident

5:40 PM - 3/20/2021

It's Saturday and the school is mostly empty, but Principal Zayn Allen, and his vice principal, Silica Fairbanks, are currently inspecting the 4-story school building that was built in 1939 during the start of World War II named Hillsborough County High School, with few of the school workers and guards still at school. Zayn is only aged 49, and he was first born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1972. Silica is aged 35 years old and she is his youngest assistant. She was born in Bridgton, Maine in 1986.  The two are openly strict about the regulations of the school and they had to make sure that the school is safe from any kind of terroristic threats, as their own safety. They were also kind and are close friends. The students are not in the rooms because they all left. Not a single one has been left behind. As they walked, they began conversing about last year's incident that led to two students being expelled for battery and assault over the course of 3 months with the one in July 2020, that the incident is about a 17-year old girl being beaten up and suffered moderate injuries sustained by these two students.

"So about the two, have they been snooping around the school property?" asked Zayn Allen to Silica Fairbanks. "Not really, we have security guards on both gates and they reported that they saw nothing of the sort, just two people, looking ordinary and they are just walking by as usual" she replied. "I see" said Zayn with a slight relief. He was hoping that they might not come back, though.

"These two are not just troublemakers, but I can't believe why their parents never have to handle this situation?" asked Silica. "I don't know, but they were sent for anger management, so I have to hope that they will be behaved" sighed Zayn.

"David did a huge number on Dylan. He had to be taken to hospital for his severe injuries. That was something uncalled for, but he said he has no choice." said Zayn.

"For Riley, he said some words before he was taken away like one day, he and this school will fall" said Silica, pondering about the last time they will see these two students who were expelled and taken away. "I got the feeling that his threats may soon become a reality, given by his violent, angry face" she said with quite a worry.

"Do not worry, he is just an idiot who was just trying to make us piss our pants" assured Zayn.

"Oh, I guess you're right" chucked Silica.

"The witness..." he said quietly. "I had to thank David Williams for saving this girl by holding them off, allowing her to warn us. If it wasn't for him, she would have been done for." he said further.

After that, they began to search the classrooms, with only one suggestion from Zayn.

"Let's check on the classrooms, we'll start with Class 3-3. It's on the 2nd floor" suggested Zayn. "Okay then" she said noddingly, and they left to the second floor. As they climbed up, Silica starts to become a bit concerned.

"I got a bad feeling about this..." she said a bit nervously. "I hear a distant squeak coming from the 2nd or 3rd floor right now" said Silica. "Don't worry, I heard nothing. There is nothing to worry about"  said Zayn optimistically.

So she agreed and they opened the door to Class 3-3 when they hear a beeping sound coming in around the classroom. The two were immediately alarmed and reacted to the sound, but did not know what it was.

"What was that beeping sound?" asked Zayn, a bit panicked about the sound. "I don't know, Sir Zayn, but I can hear it everywhere on Class 3-3." cried Silica as she began to feel very concerned. "Check around the classroom. Quickly!" Principal Zayn ordered and they began scrambling around the classroom as quickly as possible. It took them at least 40 seconds when Silica found something hiding in one of the secret compartments of Class 3-3, located below the windows.

"Uhhh, Zayn? I found something" said Silica as she stared something. "What? What is it?" asked Zayn as he rushed in towards her. "I don't know but it has a timer on it" she said as she put her ear closer to an unusual device, feeling that this is where the beeping noise is coming from.

He went closer to her and he saw something... A device... It has a small propane bomb with 4 tubes wrapped around with elastic, electric tape and has wires around between the timer and one of the cylinder sides inside with a small brown wire that he knew that it was the fuse, looking like a pipe bomb and it was attached to the small propane bomb. It didn't take long that Zayn realized what it is...

"Wait... It's a BOMB!" shouted Zayn. "WHAT!!?!" cried Silica, as she backed away and she froze in fear 

"We need to get the hell out of here! It's only 10 seconds!" he shouted.

They both made a run for it, but Silica accidentally tripped over on two seats and she trampled onto the floor, resulting in her right ankle and her right arm to fracture. Zayn was at the door at that time while Silica was only 2 meters away from the explosive device, but he did not want to leave her behind. So he rushed back and he tried to lift her and drag her out of the classroom but... it was already too late for them...

** Beep...Beep...Beep...***

**BEEP**

--BOOM!--

The bomb explodes, decimating most of the classroom and parts of the school. Glass windows shatter, walls crumble and erupted out into the fields as the explosion threw debris all over the place.

For Principal Zayn Allen, and Vice Principal Silica Fairbanks... they do not fare so well. The explosion, combined with the shrapnels piercing on their backs, killed them, almost instantly, but not before they held their hands and she tried to speak but blood began dripping out from her mouth and after that, the two passed away as the fires began to burn everything inisde Class 3-3 with the gash opened up by the blast...
