It was currently 2AM and I was hiding behind a tree. The moon illuminated the woods merely, just enough light for me to see somebody moving. Derek. Got you. My heart was beating fast and I wanted to just kill him now but I couldn't.

Jacob had told me not to, until he meets up with this guy named Robert. He needed to know what he and Derek discussed tonight. He even gave me this microphone kind of ear bud gadget thing what records whatever I hear.

And right now I was following Derek deep into the woods. I couldn't help but feel slightly cautious, who or what hid behind those trees.

No, Rosalie, focus now. I told myself and continued to follow him. There was a good distance between Derek and me and I would keep it that way. Then a clear cracking sound came from underneath my feet. I stepped on a branch.

I ducked and hid behind a tree, but I could still see Derek and he had pointed his gun a few meters next to where I was hiding. "Who's there?" His demanding voice echoed loud and clearly through the woods. But there was no reaction shown. And neither did I move or made a sound. I didn't dare to breathe.

"If you are there, I am armed." He spoke again but a little more quiet this time. Then another rustling sound came from across the path and a slender figure walked out of them. His hair was spiked upwards. He too held a gun in his hands.

It was not pointed at Derek like Derek was pointing it at the man but he held it in his hands like could shoot any minute. I guess this guy was Robert. "Derek." I could hear the smirk in his voice. He sounded confident, like he was sure nobody was watching.

There would be nobody to watch, if it wasn't for this job, which I was going to get 10,000 dollar for if I may add.

"Robert," Said Derek trying to sound as confident as Robert did but his voice trembled. I inwardly chuckled. Oh so brave. "Do you have the money?" Robert demanded. Derek had recovered from his shock and nodded steadily.

He pulled out a stack money, Jacob's money. He told me about Derek robbing him to buy drugs. He used to be great friends with him but after he stole his money that was long gone.

Robert took the stack out of his hands and looked through it. He smiled in satisfaction and nodded, then he handed back the stack and asked something I didn't expect, "Where did you get that money from? The last time we met you were paying me the last bit in cents."

Derek didn't seem to be faced by the question. "I stole it. It wasn't that hard really." Robert gave a slight laugh. "Who'd you stole it from?" He asked casually. "I don't see how that is any of your business." Derek said narrowing his eyes.

"Okay, fine. When and where is our next appointment?" Robert asked, shrugging it off. "How about in two weeks, in the abandoned warehouse?" Derek proposed. Robert nodded, "Sounds good to me. Okay here you go." He handed a small bag to Derek, who had a satisfied grin on his face. Derek gave Robert the money.

I knew that I would have to kill Derek any minute now. "Oh and Derek," Robert had started walking away but turned around for one last time. "It was an honor working with you." Then as if he had known that I was sitting here all along he shot.

I ducked to the side and the bulled got through a strand of my hair. Then Robert ran away, not wanting to be in this kind of trouble. Here I was, standing in front of Derek. His gun was pointed at me, mine pointing at him.

"Well well, a girl?" Derek asked amused, "I haven't seen that before." The sound of his laugh echoed through the woods. I only narrowed my eyes at him. He stepped closer to me and rested his gun on my temple.

"Oh, is she new in this business? Praying that she is going to wake up any minute now? Waiting for a miracle? Well, let's break it to you new girl, that is not going-"

I used my best defense for when a guy was close to me, I kicked his nuts and he was laying on the ground, his gun out of his reach. It was almost funny how he instantly began to beg, "No, please. Don't do it. I would never kill you. Will your parents be proud of you?"

With the mention of my parents something inside me snapped. He didn't had the nerve. I knew he was going to die, but that wasn't enough. I kicked his side and a sound of pain escaped his mouth. Unnecessary, I know, I just couldn't help myself that moment.

Then I lifted my gun and as I was about to pull the trigger a heavy weight knocked me to the side. I was being attacked. I landed on the soft leaves and managed to get back on my feet.

My gun was still in my right hand. And I was so thankful for that. I scanned the situation. Three men had accompanied us, only none of them had a weapon, odd. Derek was now on his feet and picked his gun off the ground.

I calculated my chances, as if they read my mind two of them jumped for me, one taking my gun and the other one holding me. Great, now the only thing that I could do is fight them.

I kicked the man who had the gun pointed at me in his face and elbowed the one holding me in his stomach. As he is letting me go I raise my elbow to his head and knock him in the head. I run for the third man and just as I am about to give him a hard hit on the nose, I hear somebody yell, "Enough!"

I turn to see Jacob standing there, I still stand ready to attack while I speak loudly, "What, Jacob? I am doing the work you asked me to do." The guys make a run for it. I see that one is not getting up, I walk towards him and check his pulse. Nope, dead.

"Why are you here?" I ask, angry because I didn't finish my job and they escaped me. "Look Rosalie, those were actors. This was a test." Actors. I killed one of them. Killed an innocent soul. "You mean that he wasn't supposed to die? None of them were actual criminals?" I ask terrified.

"The guys were criminals but we hired them." Jacob stated like it was the most casual thing in the world. "Are you mad? Why would you even do that? I killed one of them!" I yelled. He chuckled and said, "That was very impressive by the way." I look at him in disgust, "You must be out of your mind! I thought I was fighting for my life right there and apparently I wasn't!"

He nodded understandingly, "I am a part from the Montaro gang, we are based here in LA and we want you to join us. You are perfect for us," He handed me a little card. "So if you have thought about it, call me." His name and number were written neatly on the white card. Then he turned around and left me in the woods.

I grabbed my gun and got out of there because the woods at 3AM is giving me the creeps.

Also, being in a gang meant that I would be available any time, which would maybe even mean me being away for days. Where would I keep Daisy? I couldn't do that.

But on the other hand, I have less chance of being killed and working with people makes me more a team person. I don't know how much I'll get for it but I don't think it'll be less than I earn now. Also I can learn their techniques and then after like 6 months I leave again.

My last period has just ended and I headed off to my locker to collect my things and go to my car. Once I'm in the parking lot I see somebody standing next to my car, clearly waiting for me to arrive. I reach the blond haired guy and he grins at me.

"Hello sweetheart." He greets me and holds his hand out for me to shake but I don't. This guy is from the business, I can tell. His red eyes give him away, no normal high school boy would dare to go to school when he's high. He is messed up by the business and I can't blame him. "What do you want?" I ask icy.

He looks around to make sure nobody's eavesdropping and starts his story. "I am a member from the Penora gang and we want you in our gang, we've seen your work and you are perfect."

Another one? Where does all of this come from? I am not anything extraordinary. I just do what I have to do.

I make sure my face remains expressionless and I just raise one eyebrow, "You are not the first one." I state simply, that caught him off guard. Good. "What do you mean?" He asks.

"Are you deaf? You are not the only one who wants me in their gang." I made sure to sound careless. If I was going to join a gang it wasn't going to be the Penora gang, if that is it's name, because I don't feel comfortable with this dude and I bet that the other members are just like him.

"Oh, well," He handed me a white card, just like the one Jacob had given me. "Take your time, Rosalie. Oh, and one last thing you want to be friends with us, I promise." He grins evilly and walks away.

When I get in my car I throw the card on the dashboard, angry. But then something catches my eye. On the other side of the card there is a little message. I grab the card and read what it says.

Your precious sister isn't as safe as you think she is.

My car is parked in front of the daycare and I rush into the building. My sister. I need to find her. I have to see her. I almost run to the new girl. "Hey, I am here for my sister?" I ask. She grins and I frown. She was always so shy. "Oh yes, of course Rosalie, follow me."

I don't hesitate and follow her as we walk out of the back door of the building and get into a dark room where I can see nothing. I know I am trapped but I am desperate to find Daisy.

Then a dimmed light goes on and I see my sister with a cloth around her mouth and tears streaming down her face but worse, she is tied to a chair. I stare at the girl who got me here and she looks very satisfied with herself.

I run towards my little sister but then I am pulled back by a very strong man. "No!" I cry out. "Leave me alone!" I sounded pleading, which I normally never do but this is my sister we are talking about. I try my best to fight and I kick him and even bite his hand but he doesn't give in.

Then the guy from in the parking lot appears out of nowhere. "Well, well, if it isn't our sweet little Rosalie." He walks up to me and lifts my chin with 2 fingers. I try to bite them. "Don't you dare to even point a finger at her." I snap bitterly. He chuckles.

"You know what, we'll make a deal. We don't kill your sister and you join our gang. Sounds fair, right?" He smirks in a triumphant way. Kill your sister.

I realize I don't have my gun with me, I never take it to school. "Yes, yes, OK. Deal." I agree as fast as possible. He smiles, "That is a good girl."

Bang.
