It had been a few days since her parents had informed her of the impending engagement with Saito Fuyuka. It had been also not that long when Yurina and her started dating. Neru is still weighing things in her mind, should she just conform to her parents' wishes or should she follow her heart and run away like how the younger girl had suggested.

It was taking a toll on her, that she hadn't been eating much nor going outside her room. Her parents too were worried of their daughter's health but still couldn't back out of the pact they had made. Losing face in the public's eyes is more important. Yurina was also worried of her girlfriend, although she's the only person who was allowed in Neru's room, she'd find the girl spacing out, crying, or fast asleep, the food always untouched and Yurina had always tried her best to get her to eat.

Neru loves her parents despite the argument they had but she also loves Yurina who brightens her day. Spending the rest of her life with Fuyuka is not gonna make her happy but misserable. She knew that all too well, the young heiress is popular among many girls and Neru doesn't wish to take part in her little harem. It was one reason why her feelings for the heiress had dissipated. But thinking about the disappointment in her parent's eyes and what face would their family show if she continues to stubbornly resist on the agreed engagement of their parents, she couldn't help but sigh in defeat.

In the end, no matter how much she loves Yurina and how she wanted to be with her, her family would always come first in her heart and mind, disappointing them is the last thing she would do.

As if on cue, she heard a knock followed by Yurina's voice, "Neru?" Worry could be heard from her lover's voice.

"C-come in," Neru answers, had hanging low, her hair covering her face like a veil.

She heard the door creak open, then closed with a click, Yurina had locked the door for privacy. She heard heavy footsteps and soon enough she could feel the the bed dip beside her.

"Neru?" Yurina calls out to her in worry.

"Hhm?" Was all she could reply. She had finally made a decision but now, she couldn't even face her lover and tell her this.

She felt warm as Yurina had wrapped her in an embrace. She knew she was being selfish but she just couldn't bring herself and tell Yurina her decision.

Neru hugged back her lover, "Stay here tonight." She tells the young girl.

Yurina chuckles at her lover, "I'll stay even if you want to kick me out of your room. I missed you, dummy." She says as she kisses the top of Neru's head, rubbing soothing circles on the older girl's back which somehow calmed her down.

Neru nuzzles into the crook of her lover's neck. She wanted to engrave in her memory her lover's scent. She knows that cuddles like these from the girl will never happen again.

Yurina, clueless of what Neru had in mind, didn't bothered at all asking anything. She stayed there, arms wrapped around the older girl, feeling the warmth her lover is giving off is comforting. She firmly believes that Neru would fight for their love. And she herself is more than ready to fight for it too. She had already fought for her freedom, love is definitely out of the question.

Both of them stayed like that as they drifted into a peaceful slumber.

The next day, Yurina woke up and panicked upon realizing Neru wasn't in her arms anymore. She frantically hurried down the stairs and noticed something odd. The whole mansion seemed to be quite busy; the servants had been going to and fro either arranging a piece of furniture or decor. She had a bad feeling about this but chose to stay calm and composed as she reached the bottom of the staircase.
