Epilogue

After Techi's, or it should be Hirate Yurina, the crowned princess' death, everything was in a mess. The union of Hinata and Keyaki Kingdom was postponed as the royalties of Keyaki Kingdom was mourning the death of their long lost daughter, whereas Hinata's young Princess Memi was nowhere to be found along with her bodyguard, Mana. She was supposed to be questioned about Yurina's death but as she had gone missing days after the news, many had been speculating that she had gone back to their kingdom in hiding as there were rumors that she was the one who shot the late princess dead.

Yuta, her brother had been in no shape to rule the kingdom, he had relinquished the title as crowned prince therefore giving his cousin, Sugai Yuuka, the said title. He had been blaming himself for the death of his sister. Had he been careful enough, Memi would not have found her whereabouts.

The MonaRisa couple was in no good shape as well, they just couldn't believe that their best friend was gone. They had been protecting the young princess since they were youngsters and they couldn't help but blame themselves partially for not being there to protect her during the time she needed them the most.

The whole kingdom was mourning, the people who got to know her during the time she was living as the noble, Techi, mourned for her as well.

The sound of the bell from the distant church rings signalling that it was 6 on the dot could be heard in the small cottage. Neru had left Gana Village before her parents and Fuyuka chase after her, as her name was printed on the papers along with her photo clutching onto the lifeless body of her beloved. She had chosen to live a simple life in a small secluded village near the sea. She had just finished preparing supper and had settled down to eat her fill. She couldn't help but feel sentimental over small things now that she had been living alone. She had ran herself a small apple pie shop in the area, it had became her specialty since Techi would always ask her to bake her one. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of her lover.

She admits that she had suicidal thoughts after Techi's death, but Manaka and Risa would constantly tell her back then that Techi had not given up her life to see her wreck herself like that. That thought was the only thing that was keeping her sane despite the hardships she had been facing constantly. She was thankful of the two as well, they've been keeping in touch with her despite everything that had transpired.

As she was doing the dishes, she had noticed a faint light floating outside the window. It was then she realized that there were fireflies in the area as well. She smiled to herself as she finished the task at hand, she ventured out into the garden outside and sat on the grass, admiring the beauty of nature and the fireflies floating around her. She remembered the time she and Techi had went on a trip by the lake, there were dozens of fireflies there just as now.

She smiled sadly as she gazes at the scenery unfolding before her, how much she wishes that Techi would be right beside her. She gazed at the ring she had been wearing, the very ring that Techi meant to give her.

"Why did you leave so soon, Techi?" Neru started tearing up, sobbing to herself. "Why were the gods so against us? I... I just want us to stay together 'till we grow old together."

"As long as you stay by my side forever, I don't need anything else."

"This is so unfair! I want her back!.. I want Techi back...."

Just then a shooting star streaked across the sky, upon the sight of this Neru made a desperate wish.

"I want to be reborn and meet you again, Techi. I want to love you again."

Neru felt the night breeze blow against her, and as if in reply, she heard Techi's voice.

"Until the day when our paths cross again."
