I was walking home when I suddenly got that 'feeling.' Somebody was going to die. Suddenly, the voices appeared, murmuring at a low humming sound when suddenly they started shrieking in my ear.
The pain was excruciating. I held my head in agony and fell to my knees. I couldn't hold it back anymore and screamed. Loudly.
And then finally, the voices stopped but not without saying a name. Wayland. Tears sprung to my eyes as my vocal cords quieted down. I remember Wayland. He was a dear friend to dad. He used to come by and go fishing with him.
I could tell that the death was different somehow. For some reason, my mind screamed vampires.
After I calmed down, I changed directions, heading straight to the Cullen house.
"Ella." Carlisle greets as I stand on their porch. "Carlisle. Is the family here?" He nods and gestures me inside. I make my way to the living area, or should I say undead area, and look towards Edward.
He looks at me with a disturbed expression. "Ellie, hey." Rosalie hugs me and stands beside me, instantly realizing that I'm not here to socialize.
"It has come to my attention that a few stray vamps have attacked a human." I inform and their facial expressions turn grim.
"Ella, there are some nomads here and there that do pass through Forks. Sorry to say, but this happens often." I look towards the floor. Wayland must've been at the wrong place at the wrong time.
"I see. I just came here to inform you. I'm getting a bad feeling from this though." I state and Carlisle looks at me curiously.
"What kind of feeling and how did you know it was vampires that killed that man?" I go to answer but Jasper beat me to it.
"That this is only the beginning." I nod to confirm that statement. "Plus, I'm not sure how I could tell. His death felt different. Maybe it's because I'm new at this, but my mind and body just screamed that it was a vampire."
Carlisle nodded. "Oh and Ella, your eyes are gray again." I sigh and focus on calming down. They all smiled at me and I know that my little method works after all.
"Are you staying with us Ella? It could give us an excuse to use the kitchen." I chuckle and Esme smiles at me warmly. I shake my head. "No. Sorry, but I need to make amends with Charlie. I was really horrible to him." Rosie hugged me and I made my way to the door before I turned back.
"Oh, and it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow, so watch it you diamond people." I heard some chuckles as I left.
Time to face the music with Charlie. Yay.
~
I really need to get my own car. Walking everywhere is terrible, especially when you are as lazy as I am.
I stood outside the house that I grew up in and was surprised to say the least. I thought coming here would feel different, bit it didn't. It still felt like home.
I don't know what the hell I'm going to say to Charlie, but hopefully he forgives me. I treated him badly and never let him explain.
I mean what would anyone else do if one day they found out that they were adopted? That their entire life was a lie? Probably not be happy.
But no matter what, blood or not blood, Charlie is my dad. That's not going to change. He raised me. No one else.
I walked up to the door and focused my hearing inside. A heartbeat.
I slowly but surely, knock.
I held my breath, waiting for the lecture of a lifetime or for him to say that I'm not his blood and that I'm not welcome here.
I'm waiting for him to reject me as a daughter since he has the one he wanted back.
The door opened and I stood still, staring at the steps, until I was suddenly embraced in a hug.
To say I was surprised was an understatement.
"Ella." He breathed into my hair. Tears sprung to my eyes. He didn't reject me. This is like when I was ten and ran away with Jacob for a day and we lived in the woods.
I thought he would treat me differently. I squeezed him back just as tightly. "Dad."
~
We let go after awhile and we both were still sobbing.
"Dad I'm sorry I said all those things to you! I didn't even let you explain and a lot of stuff happened that day so...figuring out I was adopted overwhelmed me and I thought that since I knew, you wouldn't treat me like your daughter because you have Bella, and..... I'm really sorry." I sobbed.
Charlie put a hand on my shoulder and I looked up. He looked terrible. He had stubble on his face and his eyes were red from lack of sleep.
I did that.
It's strange. Charlie is not one to show emotion, but here he is, crying.
"Ella, you are my daughter. I knew that when I first rescued you from that crime scene. You and Bella are my kids. And you don't have to apologize. Your life got turned upside down and you felt betrayed. I'm sorry I kept it a secret, but I didn't want to change anything. You were always so happy, so full of life, that I didn't want to tell you that we weren't blood. I love you kiddo, blood or no blood."
He pulled me into his arms as more tears started streaming down my face. Blood or no blood, we are family.
~
Bella was a little shocked when she saw me in the bathroom the next morning and I simply said that Charlie and I worked things out. And she left it alone after that.
So now we are at school. It's sunny out, wildlife could be heard everywhere, and no vampires were in sight.
I sighed. I miss Rosie. Right now we would be scrutinizing everybody on how skanky they dressed today.
I was beside Bella as Jessica was on the table, flaunting her cleavage.
"He's not here." Jessica stated as Bella kept glancing around.
Bella looked at her for an explanation while I sat thinking.
I should buy Rosie a phone. I'm so booorrreeedddd.
"Whenever the weather's nice, the Cullens disappear." I narrowed my eyes at her. What else does she know.
"What, they just..ditch?" I sigh. Sometimes Bella is way to inquisitive for her own good.
"No. Dr. and Mrs. Cullen yank 'em out for hiking and camping and stuff. I tried the idea out on my parents, not even close." Of course you would know that. Crazy ass butt hurt stalker.
I roll my eyes and see Angela walking towards us looking rather happy. "Hey baby, what's got you looking so smiley?" I wink at her for extra effect.
Angela laughs and answers, "I'm going to prom with Eric! I just asked him. I took control!" I smiled, I'm glad that she's breaking out of her shell. Eric will help with that.
She hugged Bella and I before asking, "Are you sure you have to go out of town?" I could see Bella begin to break so I quickly took control of the situation.
"Non refundable ticket." Angela pouted.
"We need to hit the stores in Port Angeles before all the good dresses get cleaned out." Ew. Dresses. I'm more of a skinny jeans and leather jackets kid of girl.
"Port Angeles? Can we go with you guys?" I look at Bella strangely. What the hell is she planning?
"Yeah. I need your opinions." Angela scoffed. I eyed Bella. What does she know?
I apologize greatly. This is more of a filler chapter then anything. I'm sorry, my birthday is tomorrow and I didn't want to leave you guys without a chapter! I hope you all still loved Ella and her craziness! Anyway, I will try to be faster with updates, but no promises since I have school. Spring break is soon though, so hopefully I will be able to update then, but like I said no promises!
Bye Lovelies~
