Lightspeed sat by the river bank outside the school while looking at his reflection the the water below with his cowl off. Days like this were the days he wanted to change the past.

At that point, no one could ever cheer him up. He let his mother die right in front of his eyes just because he wasn't fast enough to take his "father" down.

Though he knew Barry suffered something similar years ago, Lightspeed doesn't want to talk to him about it. Did he regret that decision? He still didn't know.

Barry can't help, Wally can't help, not even his own son can! That's when he heard a female spoke from behind. "Mikey?" she asked to get his attention, as she walked towards him and sat beside. "Are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine..." he lied.

She hugged him tight, bringing his head close to her chest to cry on. "I'm sorry about Mrs Th-"

"It's fine, it wasn't your fault." He started to break into tears. He could only hold it in for so long. "I-It was mine..."

"No." She held him closer, tighter. "Stop blaming yourself over these things. You did all you could to save her."

"I-I know, Kara, but m-my best w-wasn't good enough. I l-let F- why do I even s-still call him that?- Thawne kill m-my mother. A-And just because I-I wasn't fast enough to stop h-him."

Kara rubbed his head, trying to get him to calm down. It brought her to tears to see her husband cry.

Her warm finger stroked his dark brown hair. Though she was a kryptonian, he thought she squeezed him eith the perfect strength. Kara hushed him, trying to get him to calm down.

All Mikey felt was warmth despite the cold atmosphere. He eventually cooled down till all he heard was tge rustling of leaves and the cold wind.

"Do you hear that?" Kara asked, looking out.

Mikey tried his best to hear, but all he picked up was silence. "No," he answered. "Unless you're using your superhearing again."

Kara smiled and giggled a bit. It became contagious as it spread to Mikey's face. "No, I hear the sound of your mother. She says she is proud to have a son like you, she didn't regret anything because of you."

"She was like an angel to me."

"But all angels will have to leave earth someday. They can't stay forever. So your mother wants you to live out your life without regrets, despite any bad choices you make."

Hearing the words escape from Kara's mouth, he trusted her words. Truly, if his mom was here, she would say the same thing. He wonder if Kara got tho-

"And this time I didn't read from a book!" she said proudly.

Oh, so she didn't. She smiled and Mikey smiled back. So someone was able to help him...
