Lightspeed Oneshots [On Hold]

Lightspeed practically skipped his way home. He received good news he couldn't wait to tell his family. He knew if this new theory is correct, it could save his son!

He *cough* phased *cough* into his own home and almost scared his family by his sudden appearance if Supergirl didn't have super-hearing.

"Hey Kara, Barry," he said with a smile before taking off his cowl.

"Hey Mikey," Supergirl said as Kara Danvers.

"Hi Dad," his son replied.

"I've got something to tell you guys," Mikey announced, his grin grew wider, grabbing everyone's attention. "Team Flash has found a way to get the Negative Speed Force out of your system, Barry!"

"How?"

"Well, Future Flash didn't tell me a lot about it but he says you can go to Hero High if you want to get the cure!"

"Really?"

"We aren't 100% sure since you are the only one of your... kind... but we think it has a chance."

Barry thought about it for a while before saying with a depressing tone, "I don't think I should take the cure, Father."

"Why? Isn't that what you wanted?"

"Previously, yeah. It reminds me of the terrible thing 'Grandpa' did to me... but... I think the damage it has done to me has been the thing that pushed me to become Darkspeed. It... It reminds me why I keep running!"

"Barr, you know that there's no need for doing that to yourself," Kara spoke. "You're body is already like this, if removing the Negative Speed Force from you means you can get back to normal, don't you think it'll be for the best?"

"I'm Darkspeed, what made me... me, is that I use both Speed Forces and still survive. It's what makes me me. Like, you are you because you are the son of the Speed Force!"

Mikey nodded, patting his shoulder, "I understand, Son. If you ever wish to take the cure, me and the rest are free to help."

"Thank you."

Kara smiled, looking at her two boys.
