Lauren opens her eyes but shuts them at the same time. The lights were bright and the smell of disinfectant was strong. Lauren looks around the room to see nothing but white walls.
The door to the room opens and Lauren nearly cries when she sees Kiana standing there. Kiana seemed just as shocked to see Lauren awake.
"Nurse." Kiana says loudly. Not even a second later and tall brunette walks into the room.
"Hello Miss Jauregui." The nurse says. Lauren doesn't say anything due to the fact she had a tube down her throat.
"Lauren I'm so happy you're awake." Kiana says. Lauren points to the tube. "Oh right. Can we take that out of her?" Kiana asks the nurse.
"Yes. Just let me make sure everything else is okay." Lauren was finally able to see the nurse up close in person. She felt chills run down her spine when she saw that it was Camila.
"My name is Camila, I've been your nurse since the day you arrived." Camila says. "I'll be right back with the doctor then we can take that tube out of your mouth."
When Camila leaves the room Lauren closes her eyes. Kiana walked closer to Lauren and sat beside her.
"You scared the shit out of me Lauren." Kiana said. "I'm glad you're finally awake." Lauren didn't open her eyes.
The door open once again and Lauren heard the voice that she thought she would never hear again.
"Lauren." James says. Lauren opened her eyes right away. James walked in with Camila following behind him and the doctor.
"Miss Jauregui it's nice to see you awake." The doctor says. Lauren looks at the doctor to see Harry standing there. "I'm going to take this tube out of your mouth." He says while walking over to her.
He grabbed the tube and carefully pulled it out of her mouth. Lauren felt a huge weight being lifted off of her. Lauren didn't move, she stayed perfectly still fearing that if she moved it would all go away.
"Lauren are you okay?" James ask. Lauren knew she wouldn't be able to hold in her tears that's why she let them fall. James was quickly by her side.
"Miss we have a few questions." Harry says. "Do you think you can talk?" He ask. Lauren didn't make a move to talk.
"Come on Lauren please talk." James pleaded.
"You died." Lauren said. She was still confused about what was real and what wasn't. James shook his head.
"No Lauren I made it to the lake, remember?" James ask. Lauren couldn't remember.
"Lauren what's the last thing you remember?" Harry ask. Lauren looked to Camila, not bothering to hide her discomfort.
"Lauren." James says.
"I don't know what is real and what is not real." Lauren says. James frowns.
"What do you mean?" Harry ask. Lauren looked to the ceiling.
"I can't sort it out. All of it was real for me." Lauren said. "You died and so did you." Lauren pointed to Kiana and James.
"You and Zayn helped Ally and Camila."Lauren pointed to Harry. The doctor looked amused.
"And Dinah and Zendaya and Normani were there." Lauren said. She stopped when she thought about it.
"What's wrong?" Kiana asks.
"If none of that was real then how do I know Zayn, Dinah, Normani, Ally, and Zendaya?" Lauren ask.
"Well all of those people you just named works here at the hospital, they've also been checking on you regularly." Camila says. Lauren still wasn't convinced.
"What about Zariah?" Lauren directs her question to Kiana and James.
"Who is Zariah?" James ask. Kiana looks down with guilt.
"Umm. That's what I've been meaning to tell you." Kiana says weakly. "I'm pregnant." James was shocked.
"I don't understand." Lauren says. "What happened to mother and father?" She asked James.
"Oh yea. That's the thing, mother was pregnant with twins. I didn't find out until I went back to the house about two months ago. Lauren they're four years old." James says.
"Let me guess their names are Lucas and Jamie." Lauren says. James nods his head.
"I don't understand how I got here." Lauren says.
"When I made it to the lake you were passed out." Kiana says. "I waited on James and we came straight to the hospital, you almost died Lauren."
"Wow." Lauren says.
"What do I do now?" Lauren ask.
"Well you stay here for a couple of days, then when you're released you can do as you please." Camila says. "Oh but you will need a nurse at home with you, you're going to have trouble remember stuff."
"We'll be here if you need anything." Harry says while walking out, Camila not far behind.
"Lauren I'm really fucking happy you're awake. Kiana and I have been here everyday making sure you were alright." James says.
"Yeah. We told you stories and everything. It's crazy that you've been asleep for four years." Kiana says.
"It was a coma." Lauren corrected. "That means I'm 20." Lauren says.
"I know right it's crazy." James says. "Can you tell us about that dream world of yours?" James ask. Lauren wasn't sure she wanted to go into detail about everything but she told them what she thought was important.
"Yea. The world had ended." James burst into laughter. "As I was saying... the world had ended and a bunch of shit had went down. You ended up dying because mother and father found us and killed you. Kiana died giving birth." Lauren says.
"Wow What a sad way to die." Kiana comments.
"I fell in love with Camila, we were about to start a family before I came here." Lauren says. James was looking at her intensely.
"You fell in love with Camila, the nurse?" James ask. Lauren nods her head.
"I could set you two up if you wanted." He jokes Lauren doesn't find it funny.
"Who would have known. Little Lauren is in love." Kiana says.
"Shut up." Lauren says.
