The walk back was painful, sad and awkward. The group had never experienced something like this. The betrayal of it all made things worse. The disappointment of being lied to is the root of all.
"Take me home." Jamie says. She had stopped walking and was now standing still with her arms crossed. Lauren turned around to see the little girl with tears in her eyes.
"Jamie let's go." Lauren said coldly. She wasn't in her right mind to argue with a child.
"No! Take me back to my home." Jamie said. Lauren frowned growing tired of the fighting.
"That's not your home. I know what they did to you. I know what they were going to do to you in the quad." Lauren said. Jamie frowned.
"You don't know shit." Jamie balled her fist up.
"I know more than you. I've been there, those were my parents before they were yours. So please spare me the attitude." Lauren said.
"Take me home." Jamie demanded.
"Jamie please stop." Lucas pleaded with his sister.
"No Lucas! We don't know these people." Jamie said.
"I'm your sister Lauren Michelle Jauregui." Lauren said.
"I don't care what your name is." Jamie said. Lauren smiled because Jamie reminded Lauren a lot of James.
"Okay. Listen Jamie I'm not taking you back there. You're coming with us so that you're safe." Lauren said. Jamie shook her head.
"No." She said. Lauren thought of ways to convince the girl and she knew just how to but she didn't want to.
Jamie was the one who got the most torture. She probably did most of the things Lauren had to do, and got beat a lot. She knew Jamie was accustom to being talked to roughly so that could be the only way.
"Jamie I will not tell you again. You're coming with us and that's final." Lauren said roughly. It took everything in her not to say she was sorry. The look on Jamie's face made her want to kill her self.
Jamie nodded her head and began to walk again. Lucas walking right beside her with his arm over her shoulder. Lauren remembered how James would do that when they ran away.
"Are we close?" Lucas asked. His voice was quite and his head was down. Lauren could only imagine what they were going through.
"Yea it's right there." Lauren said. Lucas looked up.
"Lauren we need to talk." Madison says. Lauren rolls her eyes and continues to walk. The group continued to walk not wanting to get between the two.
"I'm done talking." Lauren says. Madison grabs Lauren by the arm not caring what Lauren's reaction would be.
"We need to talk." Madison says. Lauren looks down to her arm which is still in Madison's grasp.
"Let go of me." Lauren says. Madison let's go. "You have 30 seconds."
"Real mature." Madison says. "Lauren Camila lies to you, it wasn't her idea it was mines."
"I know that." Lauren says. She walks away. Madison stops her again.
"Why are you mad if you know she lied?" Madison ask.
"Because She betrayed me. She lied to me to help you. She kept a secret like that from me. She would rather lose my love so that you wouldn't." Lauren says. "She lies to protect you, I can't trust her if she lies to me."
"Lauren she's pregnant. She did that for you." Madison says. "Everything she does is for you. She wanted to tell you but I forced her not to."
"Did you put a gun to her head?" Lauren ask. Madison doesn't respond. "Did you threaten to kill the baby?"
"No." Madison says.
"You didn't force her to do anything. She did it because she wanted to." Lauren says. "Now I'm done talking."
With that Lauren walks away. Madison doesn't try to stop her this time. She knew she fucked up, there was no coming back from this.
Lauren enter the cave and saw everyone sitting and staring. Ryan sported Lauren and ran to the girl.
"Lauren! You're back." Ryan said excitedly. Lauren doesn't respond she only gives the boy a tight lipped smile. Lauren looks over to see Zariah staring at her as if she knows what's going on.
"We're leaving in a few, there is a house not far from her where we can stay until Camila has her baby." Lauren says. She didn't notice the hurt look on Camila's face at the mention of 'her baby'.
"Lauren can we talk?" Ally ask. She was about to say no until she saw the look Ally was giving her.
The two walk out of the cave and stand a couple of feet away.
"How are you feeling?" Ally ask. Lauren scoffs.
"Did you know?" Lauren ask.
"I just found out a couple of right before they left to find you." Ally says.
"I'm leaving Ally. I can't stay here anymore." Lauren says.
"No you're not." Ally says. She leans against a tree.
"You can't make me stay." Lauren says.
"You're right but you're not going to leave. It hurts right now but you love Camila just as much as she loves you." Ally says.
"You don't do those types of things to the people you love." Lauren says.
"Lauren you have to look at it from her side. She saw the person she loves suffering everyday. Then boom there might be a way to stop your suffering so she took it. Even if it cost her the love of her life." Ally finishes.
"I need time." Lauren says.
"You know you've grown so much over the years. Two years ago you were willing to kill everyone just so you could get your brother back." Ally says. "Now you have a niece you have to protect, running away will only cause her pain. She lost her parents don't let her lose the only family she has left."
"I'm not her only family." Lauren says. "She has you guys. And now she has Lucas and Jamie."
Ally frowns. She hadn't been introduced to the two children.
"They're my little brother and sister." Lauren says. Ally's eyes widen.
"Wow I would have never seen that coming." Ally says.
"I'm staying but not for Camila. I owe it to Zariah." Lauren says. Ally doesn't say anything she only nods.
