My stomach dropped to my knees and I felt light headed. He couldn't keep my baby! I felt tears of frustration filling my eyes.
"What do you mean?" I asked fighting back the tears.
"I mean if you are gonna be out running around, my son should be with me." Joey was calm and cool; he knew he had me.
The tears that spilled from my eyes were hot as they ran down my cheeks. "Joey, please let's don't do this-"
"How could you walk away from our life together? How could you just toss our little family away?" He demanded.
"I'm not doing any of those things. I just need some space " I pleaded with him.
"How much space?"
"Just a couple of nights." I assured him.
"Then go," he said looking completely defeated.
Joey walked into our room and shut the door. I grabbed my uniform from the laundry room, then picked up the baby in his car seat and ran to the car as if he would change his mind at any second.
My hands were shaking as I put the key in the ignition. I started the car and slowly drove away. All I wanted was to run to Arin and let her hold me tightly while I cried.
I picked up my phone and sent her two little words in a text. "I left".
