I drive my car out the garage and prepare for the devastating 5-minute drive to Vess' house. Man, this is going to be a long ride.
Everytime I bring the car out, I can't help but admire the look of it. Don't judge, I see the beauty in everything. Even in a goddamn zombie outbreak, I see the beauty of no school. The blue base coat of my car really makes the white stripes stand out.
I hop in and start driving. I observe as the sky as I drive past. The sky is green. Why is it green? What could possibly make it green?
On one street, a blur passes by. I was going too fast to see it. But I resisted the urge to turn around and see what it is. Who in their right mind would turn their back on the road while driving!?!?!
I turn left and something green comes to greet me.
"Holy macaroni!" I scream as I run it over. Please tell me that wasn't a human.
The road gets painted red.
Pieces of green whatever-it-was flew off in multiple directions. A couple chunks landed on my window. The wipers obviously wiped them off, leaving a transparent trail of blood.
"Zombies?" I say under my breath. Thank the stars I didn't run over a human. I'm still a good person. I have not murdered anyone using this vehicle of mine, and I still live for a reason.
I finally reach Vess' house. I park in front and enter her home.
9:30. 15 minutes, on the dot. Man, am I good at time-related... things.
Vess comes to greet me. "Hey, Wic."
I reply, almost immediately. "Hey, girl."
"What do you want to do?"
"Whatever in the world I want."
"But, please, promise me you won't go in my mother's room again. You remember what happened last time."
"Don't blame me. You literally dragged me in there."
I snap back into reality, and I realize that I left the door open this entire time.
I fully enter the house and close the door behind me.
