Knowing I wasnt a good fighter, and thinking I was probably going to die if I fought, I decided running away was the better of the two ideas. I ran back into the kitchen and hid underneath the table and huddled into a ball. I heard the sound of the footsteps coming towards my way. So I scooted my way as close to the wall as possible, which was a horrible idea do to the fact that I am a clutz. One end of the table benches wacked against the wall creating a loud thud. I saw two figures suddenly walk to the table and look at me as if I was insane.

"Dad, what are you doing here, I thought you were going on a ride"

"We did, but it got to raining to hard and so we came back. The real question is, what are you doing under there?" He asked cocking an eyebrow and looking at me as if I was going crazy.

"Ummm" I thought about it. I didnt want to tell him that I thought my dad and boyfriend were bad guys sneaking into my house and trying to kill me.

"Um, I was hiding from the storm."

"The storm?"

"Um, yeah, the lighting was really loud."

"You mean the thunder?"

"Um, yeah."  My dad looked at me weird. I didnt actually remember hearing any thunder.

"Alright." He said then they left the room. I just had a major adrenaline rush so my heart was beating really fast. I got to thinking about it and if I really was trying to hide from bad guys, I would have been caught before I could even finish hiding and I would have died or been kidnapped.

*Knock, knock, knock* I was so nervous, I almost felt as if I was going to be sick. As soon as the door opened enough for Cleo to see me, she immediately froze. I just kinda stood there feeling awkward until finally I broke the silence.

"Um, Happy Birthday!!!" I said pulling off a fake smile and handing her the cake I made.

"Thank you" Cleo said shyly. Cleo was tall with dark brown hair that went to the bottom of her back. She had light tan skin, bright blue eyes and perfectly white straight teeth.

"Your welcome, may I come in?" I asked.

"Um yeah, sure." Cleo said slowly opening the door for me to enter her house.

"Wow, your house looks a lot bigger than I remember." I said trying to break the silence.

"Yeah, we refurbished the house a little bit."

"Why?" There was a long moment of silence,

"Because I am moving."

What no, she couldn't be. I was finally ready to except her into my life again. She cant leave. Hopefully there was a mircle. After all, it seems that Emmett still wants to be my boyfriend after being with my dad. So maybe that same miracle would work and save Cleo too.

"No, you can't!" I said without thinking. Cleo looked kinda scared.  I guess I did say a lot louder than necessary. "Look Cleo, I know we fight a lot, but you can't leave." I said all that with so much drama. And I wasn't the one for much drama either. "Cleo, don't go. I beg you. I will do anything for you to stay."

Cleo looked at me as if I was crazy. Maybe I really was going crazy. Who knows, maybe I'm just very dramatic today.

"Um, Im moving 2 houses away from you." Cleo said looking at me suspiciously.

"Oh" I said calming down. Maybe I was just stupid. I dont know.

"Yeah, the only reason my mom and I would move farther away is if she gets layed off from work. But thats only like a 5% chance."

"Well we should make a plan for if you do have to move far away."

"Claire, we haven't talked in 4 months. Why would you care now?" Ouch, the thought of her saying that hurt really bad. I held back the tears and thought of a response.

"Look Cleo, I know that, but I thought of you everyday. I just assumed you were dating Emmett to prove a point to me or something because you knew I liked him."

"Why would I ever do that to you Claire, I am not like you."

"What, I am not like that at all, and for you to say that really hurts." I said with tears going down my cheeks.

"Look Claire, I didnt mean it. I'm sorry, please forgive me?" Cleo asked.

I slowly nodded.

She wrapped her arms around me and I slowly wrapped mine back arround hers.
