The rest of the summer it was the usual,but with more people leaving and coming back with bad news or people leaving and not coming back at all. I never got assigned a quest,so I hung out playing and beating Chiron and Mr.D in Pinochle. Then Beckendorf went on a quest with Jackson to blow up the 'Princess Andromeda' Luke's cruise ship with a bunch of monsters. When Percy returned,he came alone. Beckendorf got blew up.
I couldn't handle it,I was pretty good friends with Beckendorf and worked a lot with him making weapons. So this hit me pretty me pretty hard.
I walked off to the woods when I felt someone's hand grab me and hold me and put a hand over my mouth so I couldn't scream. So I started thrashing and kicking and started to get out of their grip when I felt a voice whisper in my ear "stop thrashing,it hurts". I turn around and see Nico there bending over from my rogue elbow that him in the gut.
"Ow"he complains.
"Your the one that touched me"I say.
"Remind me never to do that again,then"he says with a smile.
"What are you doing here, Nico,I thought you didn't like camp"?I ask.
"I'm here for Percy and you,did you think about it"?he asks.
"Ya,and I'm willing to do it"I answer.
Over the summer,Nico came and approached me saying he had a offer to make. He was going to the underworld with Percy to the river Styx and asked if I wanted to take a swim in there too.
"Here's Percy,are you ready"?he asks.
"As I'll ever be"I answer. And he asks Percy if he thought about and finally Percy agrees to go.
My feelings for him hadn't changed since last summer and I still have a crush in him. But right now isn't the time for my love life.
"Helen grab hold of my hand and Percy you tell Mrs.O'Leary to go to Connecticut and we'll meet you there" Nico says.
So I take hold of his surprising warm hands with my cold ones and we shadow-travel to Connecticut.
Shadow -travel felt like squeezing yourself through a tube and seeing nothing but blackness and to top it all off,you have cold shadows and shivers going up your spine. Luckily it was only for a second and soon we landed by a house in Connecticut. Percy was already here,with Mrs.O'Leary taking a nap. Nico stumbled a bit because it takes up a lot of energy and we headed on our way to Ms.Castellen's house.
Once we got there I was having second thoughts when I saw the little statutes out on her front lawn. But we went on anyway and knocked and saw a crazy woman with strange eyes open the front door.
"Hello"she says.
"Uuuhhh"I say.
"Ms.Castellean we were wondering"he was cut off though.
"Luke"she says grabbing Percy and hugging him.
Percy was looking at us with a 'what do I do'look.
"Inside Luke,its lunchtime"she says. So we walk inside and the first thing I saw was a bunch of creepy posters with Hermes's cadeaucus spread out on the walls. Ms.Castellean sat us down and served us Pb and j's and a juice box,but I found a hair in mine,so I decided to skip it. Nico did too and got straight to the point
"Ms.Castellean we were wondering if you seen Luke lately"?
"Yes,I have" she answers.
Nico looked really excited about that and said"did he ask for anything"?
"My blessing,oh what's sweet boy he is,"and went to pinch Jackson's cheeks.
"Did he have gold eyes"? Nico asks.
"No,he has beautiful blue eyes"she says.
"I think we got everything we need here,we'll just get going,thank you for"but Nico was cut of from Ms.Castellean's eyes glowing and grabbing on to my shoulders. I freaked out and made a strangled scream and pushed her away and she hit the table and Nico and Percy lifted her on a chair.
"We have to go"Nick says quickly and grabs my hand and pulls me out of the house and to the place we appeared earlier.
"A problem she has doesn't she"? A girl says.
"Uumm"Percy starts.
But Nico and I recognize the girl as Lady Hestia from camp.
"Lady Hestia"I say and plop on ground near the fire she has. Nico joins me and says "lady Hestia".
"Aahh,Nico and Helen how was your visit with May Castellean"?Lady Hestia asks.
"Crazy"I say allowing myself to take a plate and start eating.
"Percy why don't you come join us,and what did you think of the visit"?she asks.
"Creepy"he answers.
"Lady Hestia what are you doing here"? Nico asks.
"Tending the flame"she answers.
"Why are you tending the flame here"?Percy asks.
"Her home hearth is burning bright and I need to send you to yours too for the quest to be complete"Lady Hestia.
"Right,but we need to go to two homes"Nico reasons.
"I'll send you to one home and then don't worry I'll know when your done and send you to the other" Lady Hestia tells us.
Then in a second all the food is gone and she sent us to the frozen fireplace in the ice palace.
