The summer was a interesting one. Nico called his promised and stayed with me the whole summer,checking up on me and making sure I was okay.

What was the most interesting though was the conversation I had with Mr.D.

--------------1 month earlier-------------

We were in the Big house playing a game of pinochle when Mr.D asked a question " are you alright,Helen"?

The question took me off guard and I answered "Ya,why"?

"You seem to be acting strange lately"Mr.D says staring at his cards.

"No I haven't ,what makes you say that"?I ask drawing a card.

"I don't know maybe something that happened at the pavilion"He says.

"Nothing happened at the pavilion only eating and drinking"I sternly say.

"Hmmm,and kissing"Mr.D tells me and looks up from his cards to see my reaction.

"I win"I announce and stood up and start to walk away when Mr.D stares at my cards and I notice I didn't win he did.

"Tsk,tsk pay more attention Helen and for my prize for winning let's take a walk"Mr.D says and stands up walking out of the Big House to the forest. I catch up quickly and he says "I know what happened mostly but let's start at the beginning"Mr.D says and looks at me.

My reaction was pure shock,I didn't even know he payed attention to anyone at camp. I look up at Mr.D's face and see wisdom and empathy. So I start my story from the beginning.

"It started the day before I came here I this dream about Jackson and it was very strange"I told him everything from the disturbing dreams to the river Styx swim and finally ending at the talk at my cabin. The only thing I left out from telling Mr.D was Nico's crush and in replacement said he just knew what heart break felt like. Mr.D stayed quiet the whole time and when I finished my story he didn't talk for a minute.

"I understand"he responds simply and looks at me.

I stare back at him in awe,eyes big and mouth slightly agape.

"I thought Peter Johnson would be different from all those other so-called heroes but I guess I was wrong from the way he acted towards you"Mr.D says.

"Oh"was all I can say and then I regained my demeanour and tell him "Mr.D all those things I told you are secret,no matter what you can't tell anybody about any of those things"I beg him.

"What do I get in return"?he asks.

I stare at him in wonder and think how a person just pored out their soul to him and he asks what he can get.

I think and then come up with an answer " I will let you win a pinochle game against Chiron".

He looks pretty satisfied and nods and he holds out his hand and I take hold of it and we shake and in unison say

"Deal"!
