I couldn't sleep
so I decided to watch the sun
I stared as it burned my eyes
Watched it carve pretty arcs on my retinas.
Burning more than the waterless tears
that tried their best to fall.
It's hard to cry when you are dehydrated
It's hard to hydrate when you don't have the energy to drink
Move
Sleep
Live
I couldn't sleep so I watched the sun today.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This poem is exactly 69 words, go on and count them. Didn't plan on it but at least it made me smile when I noticed.
Thank you so much for all the votes everyone, it really means a lot that you are reading and enjoying my work. I hope you like this poem as well. This book has nearly doubled in reads since last post and I am honoured for that. The involvement is amazing and I am so thankful for you all. This poem, and all the poems in this book really, are for you, (yes you the one reading this right now) as much as they are for me.
I think I am going to try to sleep now and I hope that you all have a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, morning, or night.
Thank you again,M. Alice
