toxic: a poem

Slam my head against the keys

make it all out of tune

not like it will help.

Break my fingers with rulers
bend them out of shape

not like I need them.

Dig my eyes out with spoons

pop them just like grapes

not like I need to see.

Bash in my fucking skull
cave it in with a bat

leave me a dripping bloody mess.

Leave me, leave me

Leave me dripping alone

hiding in my corner

blood painting the unwashed floor

That I meant to clean last week,

the week before that, month

year, I meant to clean it.

Take me apart and lay the pieces out

Shred my bones and crush my soul

Dissolve me in my own thoughts,

God knows they are toxic enough.
