Hey all, Not a poem but a PSA! I just went to read a story here on Wattpad (Honestly I don't read on here as much as I should, so maybe this isn't new and I am just late to the party, as per the usual) and I noticed a new "feature" where I got a notice saying that I had 20 minutes of "free" reading time before I had to watch a video ad.
I am honestly very enraged about this. Yes Wattpad needs to make money but intruppeting my reading time every 20 minutes is not the way to do it at all. It's just forcing us to pay for premium which takes away the advertisements. The whole reason I read and post on here is because it is, or is supposed to be Free. I DO NOT get paid by Wattpad to write and I like that.
I will fully admit that I haven't looked into this as much as I should have before posting this but I am mad and poems were not doing it. So if I am way off let me know.
So I have some questions for all my lovely readers: Have you encountered an "ad wall" in your readings on Wattpad? If so how long was the video and was it skippable? What do you think about the disruptive video ads? Have you encountered a video or other disruptive ad in this book or any of my other books? This last one is really important to me because I don't want any of you lovelies paying for my work, with either your time or money. I write for fun and for others to read not to make money for a large company. I repeat I am NOT getting paid by Wattpad or any advertisers to post anything on here (obviously, the first poem in this book is about sucking dick, not exactly "sponsor friendly").
I wish I had a poem to follow this up with but I don't right now, soon though I promise.
