Chapter 3

Its been 8 months since I started solving the puzzle, Its taking longer than I expected and I am working on it everyday everywhere. I am in the cafeteria surrounded by my friends and deeply focused on the puzzle, until I realized there is a 3 pair of eyes staring at me.. I left my eyes to meet their concerned look, each of them having something in hand to eat or drink.. Joey decides to break the ice, "Are ya gonna finally tell us what ya work'n on Yug?!"
"Yeah, you never told us!" Tristin adds. "I guess there is no need to keep it in the dark anymore.. I was hoping to solve it first then tell you". They all abandon their lunch to hear the story behind it.
"Yugi, that sounds pretty dangerous, are you sure its safe for you to continue?" Tea asks with obvious worry. "Tea, its the only thing dad left me and he failed to solve It himself with the help of grandpa.. he thought it was my destiny to solve it.. and I am determined no matter what, I have to know what it is.." "Just be careful Yug, This doesn't sound good". "Don't worry I am aware, got to go guys" I say in hurry as I pick up my stuff and leave.
I walk away from friends into the familiar corridors till I the find the meant room, I knock then allow my self in and lay my bag and lunch on one of the many congested tables filling the room with so many items and materials on them.. I yell: "Dr.Iris its Yugi, you need to take a look at this, I think I am pretty close, we can finally recognize what it is".. a middle aged woman with a slightly dark skin and messy long black her sitting on her desk with her glasses on reading a book and laying back in a comfortable manner gets up as fast as she hears my news leaving her book on the desk .. "Allow me to see" , she picks up a huge magnifying glass from one of the tables, god knows how she remembered that was here judging by the room, she takes off her own and we both look at the artifact, she holds it under the glass, she kneels down to examine every corner. "You are close Yugi, just a couple of extra pieces and it will complete" she said in a slight of a British accent and continues examining it, "It seems to be somekind of an upside down pyramid, judging from this part on top it looks like a hanger, I believe it was some kind of necklace, a decorative one may be, it could have belonged to some kind of a wealthy official.... or.. or even a Pharaoh" she lefts her eyes from the puzzle in her kneeling position and we stare up at each other's eyes for a second in amazement. "This could be a discovery of great importance, hand me those book fast" her tone changes fast as I hand her a huge heavy book and open another my self as we both start searching in Pharaoh names, valuable items, artifact..etc.. "Look for any thing that is similar in looks Yugi, there must be something here".. "Understood".
We spend hours looking in countless books but nothing familiar encounters us... "Yugi, you said your grandfather called it millennium puzzle, correct ?" She says suddenly making me jump up. "Yes, what is what he and dad called it".. "Follow me" we hurry out of the room, she carry a book in her hand and run through bigger corridors until we reach a huge door with decorated handles which indicates importance, I remember this one distinctively, its the University museum, I have been here countless times. she pushed it carelessly and enters fast.. I walk behind her trying to keep up with her fast steps then we both stop at a glass stand with an item inside.. it has the lower shape of a key and the upper shape of a knot.. its also familiar to a cross but with shining gold beam to it.. she takes a looks at the book and then hands it over to me so I could read, "The millennium key, it's said that the true, worthy holder of the key can access human minds at any time and wonder inside for information.. however if lost or fail their mission they remain trapped inside for eternity" I finish reading and look at the ancient artifact in-front of me, "Do you know what this means Yugi?" She asks without lifting her eye from the key, "There is more than One millennium item, and the puzzle is one of them..". "Correct Yugi, this opens a series of unanswered questions, How many are there, why and how were they created, and who are the true holders, do they really have magical powers.. all these questions.." I look to my side thinking about the opportunities.. "I know there is another millennium item discovered.. Its the millennium scale, it is said to be the tool of passing judgement, and the millennium necklace, the scale is located in Egypt,the necklace is lost or for better words stolen, the key is the only item here in Domino and is property of this university.. that makes them 4 items up-till now...", she adds then then give me a fast glance,"How amazing, This could be the first step to their discovery". "Take in the feeling Yugi, your father treasured it". She looks at me with her hand behind her back and her back straight, I look back at her and nod. "Yugi, I still believe the millennium puzzle is a sealing item or may be a curse, its ...", I interrupt "We'll never know until we solve it" she looks at me and sighs "There is no changing your mind, I know that, Just like Adam..." she looks down and smiles at the memory of him "Have you told any one about it?" "Mum still doesn't know I have it, But I told my friends" I reply, "That is not wise Yugi, we need to involve as less people as we can, if this holds dark magic or evil powers many lives will be put in danger, we don't know the extent of it" she warns me once more.. "Edna will strongly disapprove".. I chuckle "Deja vu".. "I must go now, I will update you tomorrow" she says nothing as I walk away from sight...
"The millennium items huh?..."

Later that night....
I am ACTUALLY solving it!! These are the last two pieces.. I but the smaller one in the top side.. This is the last piece.. it has the eye of Horus.. I hold the millennium puzzle hollow on the inside and the last pieces in my hand.. This is it...after 8 long months....I can't believe it....I slowly insert the last piece, it makes a click sound.. my whole body shivers, my throat hurts, I am almost shaking.. I hold still for about a minute and nothing happens.. then I release my stiff muscles and laugh stupidly at my self.. did I actually think something was going to happen, I look to my side in frustration and sigh, "So much for that..." I was about to drop it on my desk.. but sudden beam of light emitted from the puzzle making my golden striped bands fly off of my forehead and I feel a burning sensation on my forehead as the eye of Horus begins to appear visibly on my skin, I threw the puzzle on my desk and touch my forehead with the tip of my fingers in as Horus eye shaped veins begin to form.. I grind my teeth as a painful headache kicks in forcing me to hold the sides of my head with my palms.. my heart bounds so hard in my chest I can feel it trying to break free.. I want to yell for help but I start to feel my head very heavy and my eyelids closing as I begin to lose consciousness.. My body is so numb...What is this??!!.. What is happening to me??!
"I...I...n...need..t..to...." I collapse on the bed as overwhelming darkness absorbs me in ..
"Get help" ...

Note: this is obvious where the plot starts to appear hopefully.. sorry for so many details I tried to make it longer, would love to hear opinions and comments 🙏🏻
