Chapter 1

Its just another boring day in class in the beginning of the second year in collage, I sit drowning in my thoughts staring at the huge window that looks the campus outside while sitting on the wooden hard bench that i have sat on for countless hours in the past year, as the voice of the professor echos in the background explaining the lessons that i pay no attention to at the moment as it is the first couple of days so .. probably nothing of importance.
Beside me sits a brunette with his palm on his face and a deep look of boredom in his eyes , followed by a blondie, his head on the bench sleeping with a sound of a snore every now and then to which i chuckle , and of course followed by the girl I have longed had my eyes on .. she is the only one paying attention staring at the professor in concentration with her glasses on and a notebook in front of her and a pen in her hand that she often presses on her lips as a sign of thinking, I smile softly at her knowing she can't see me.
My name is Yugi muto i am 20 year old a second year history student, and i just specialized in Egyptian history not only because I should decide this year , but also its runs in the family so I did not give it much thought I just knew its my destiny.. plus who am I to change heritage. As for my friends we stick together no matter where, that is our way, they grew a liking to the subject over time as well, after all we have been friends for ages now.
My grandfather dedicated his life to historical discoveries till he reached a very old age and my father like him, my mother also is very found of that field, although she is on the safe side of it , it didn't hide her affection to it. I wish I turn out like them.
I am interrupted of my thoughts with the professor addressing me "Mr.Moto would you care to read these hieroglyphics for us, or is there more important things outside you care to share with us". I simply panic, I was not paying the slightest attention. "I..um..I...I..um..I". I stuttered for less than a minute which felt like centuries then i fill shamefully silent. He looked at me with angry eyes piercing through me. "This will be the first and last time I catch you in dream land Mr.Muto, I expect of you to honor that name", he says while drifting his attention away from me smoothly, I tilt my head in an apologetic matter as i know exactly what he means by that. He wasn't waiting for an answer he was making an example of me, my face grows red as the whole class stared at me .. just when did Joey wake up ?! ... And now Tristin is paying attention ?! ... Just great. Tea smiles at me with a "its okay" look on her face i reply with a stupid smile to conceal my face in. What a promising start.

Ughhh, that was a long, boring and tiring day.. I open the door to the Kame Game shop I enter with a sigh dropping my shoes and bag on the floor with a carless manner, my grandpa approaches me in silence from behind that made me go white.. "Grandpa, don't sneak up on me like that, you scared the life out of me" .. He smiles almost weirdly but says nothing and does nothing, that's weird.. this is not gonna end well. I scan the room looking for clues to what might be happening, I see a laptop open, from the looks of the house mum is not here, and grandpa calls computers "thing" no way he was the one using it, I give him a suspicious look, he can't hold it any more and finally decided to reveal to me what's on his mind almost jumping in place. "Yugi, your grades were posted this morning, You passed with very good grades too". I don't hold a second and run towards the opened laptop to see my results, joy filled my eyes as I take in my impressive grades, my hard work and sleepless nights, I did exerted great effort last semester, it finally paid off, thank god.
"I know this is very important to you, and I am very proud of you, and this definitely deserves rewarding" grandpa says in a proud manner with eyes closed and a finger pointing up words, I get up from my sitting place and run towards him for a long hug full of happiness and excitement, he released me then lowers his head a bit and adds "You know, Your mom saw too", I returned my eyes to the laptop and never lift them off pretending that I didn't hear. Grandpa brings his palm to his forehead and sighs then sits next to me, "She had work to go to so she ran off she couldn't wait for your return, I am sure she is just as proud as I am". Grandpa always try to make excuses for my mother and her recent carelessness, he continues before I think. "Yugi, she gave up her career to raise you , and took care of the both of us after your father's death, she only decided to go back after you went to collage,it is too much work and study for her, not to mention the two hour drive, all she wants is to support us financially and move on with her life and you have to give her that". I reply quickly "Grandpa, its okay I know, you don't need to worry about me or her, I understand completely and she knows I do, mum is a very strong woman she can handle it, she made sacrifices, its our turn" I answer with smile to pass the situation, after all mom did make huge sacrifices she left her major studied for her marriage, then shortly got pregnant and had to raise me, then father...
It was about time she went back to her studies which she is very passionate about, and i truly don't mind, if any thing i am happy for her. Grandpa smiles back at me then gets up, he is almost on his way but stops without turning to face me.
"Don't you want the reward I promised?"
