Chapter 10 : Japan

With the generous assistance from their new friend Helen, Nikki, Victor and the others were able to win more races, because of the modifications Helen made to their vehicles. The team learnt that Helen raced professionally in a car that she built herself. She retired from racing after being undefeated for ten straight years, and used her earnings to start up her business. After all their hard work together, the team qualified to compete in Japan next week. Helen knew exactly what kind of races were taking place there and gave Damien a replacement Vehicle to use, instead of his Challenger.

"This will help you improve your driving, Trust me." Helen told him. The team arrived in Japan two days later and took in the landscape. They drove  around the city for a while then found a hotel to stay at. Meanwhile in the Akita Prefecture, a man named Josh was working on his Nissan z33 for an upcoming event.  "I've been keeping up with the races in the States for a while now." He said to himself.

"And now these Americans are coming to Japan, maybe i can finally get a challenge." He said.
"I've been racing here for almost two years, and i just formed a team a last year." Josh spoke quietly.
" If I like what i see, I'll probably challenge these newcomers to see how good they really are." He thought to himself. He decided to take a break from working and quietly read his manga. He was curious to see who his opponents would be and what they drove.

A short time later, The team found themselves at a car meet not far from their hotel.
"Well, you seem to be enjoying yourself." Nikki said to Victor.
"Why wouldn't I?, I've wanted to come her since i was twelve." Victor responded.
"How's the new car?" Nikki asked Damien.
"It's fast, but I'm not sure why Helen gave it to me." He replied.

The car was a ZL1 Camaro, tuned by Helen herself. Eli Drifted around the parking lot in his Charger, with Walter close behind in His S14. The crowd cheered as they show off and the Cloud of smoke gets thicker. As they head back to their parking spots, a Japanese girl with pigtails, follows them back and Confronts Walter.
"Hi, I like what you did back there, I'm a fan of Nissans." The girl said to him in a shy tone.

"Thank you, I was actually just messing around." Walter responded awkwardly.
" I'm Yuki, Yuki Nakamura." She introduced herself.
"I'm Walter, nice to meet you, Yuki." He replied.
"Uhm, can I ride with you for a while?" She nervously asked.
"Yeah, that's fine with me." He told her.

Walter got into the car with Yuki and they drove around the block a few times.
"We've hardly been here a day and he's already got a girl in his car." Eli said in an annoyed tone.
"Hey!You in the Charger!" Shouted a stranger near by.
"You're clearly not from here, You wouldn't happen to just arrive from the USA, right?" He asks him.
"Yeah i am." Eli replied.

"Finally, someone who speaks English here, I'm John, I'm here to compete in the Team events." He said to Eli in relief .
"I'm trying to figure out how to get to the Hakone Turnpike." John told him. "I can help you out with that." Victor said to him.
"I've been studying this place for years, I'll write down the directions." Victor told John.
"Alright, Thanks for the help, I'll try to get there early for some practice tomorrow." John said to him.

"This country is filled with interesting people." Nikki said sarcastically.
"So how do you feel about being here?" Victor asks Nikki.
"What do you mean?" She replies.
"I mean you're half Japanese, aren't you excited to be here?" Victor asks. "I'm not sure how to feel, I'm actually a little nervous." Nikki replies to him.

"Don't get me wrong it's an amazing place." She tells him.
"I just don't know exactly how to explain how i feel." She said. 
"Well let's just enjoy ourselves while we're here." Damien said to them.
