Over the next month May continued to work with her specialist team and develop and really start hone her supernatural skills.
She also grew closer to both Tony and Bruce. They were both helping her immensely with learning to control her emotions and in turn her powers.
May could now use all her powers at once. She could fly with a large amount of stability, move things with pinpoint accuracy almost 100% of the time and lift, remove, expand, decrease and even move her shield with ease.
It also didn't take nearly as much out of her as it once had. She still felt tired after especially long and gruelling training sessions but she could work much harder and for much longer periods of time than she had when they started.
Of course, there was still one power she hadn't told anyone about and was quite happy to keep it that way. She had been practising at night, in her bunk, where no one could see or disturb her.
At first the only way she would ever be able to reach, what she could only call her spirit self, was when she slept but as she learnt about her other powers, she could concentrate on what she was actually doing.
It took May much longer to master that particular ability but she thought that that was only because she was doing it alone. It got easier over time though, and soon caught up to the others.
The key, May found was thinking of one person or one place and let it or them completely take over her mind. The hard part wasn't changing into her other state of being, but staying there.
It felt as if there was an elastic band pulling her back to her body and the longer she stayed in spirit form, the more stretched it became until it could stretch no more and she was suddenly, and often painfully, snapped back into her body.
She had stopped visiting Jack in her other form. It was a hard decision to make, the hardest May had ever had to make but she knew she had to forget him. He would always be the best friend she'd ever have and she loved him for that but deep in her heart, she knew there was no point holding onto him when she would most likely never see him again.
At least that's what she thought, until the fateful day when everything changed.
The day started like every other had since starting her training. May got dressed into her uniform and pulled her hair into its bun. The room was empty as it always was when she rose as the new recruits were at the stage in their training where they spent several weeks on a group mission before a select few continue to the next level of training.
There was something different though that morning, May had just secured her hair into place, when she saw the light on her earpiece flashing, which only meant one thing, she was being summoned!
She picked up the small black piece with the flashing blue light and quickly rammed it into her ear and tapped the button to listen to the message left for her.
"Agent Ryan," It said in Maria's voice. "Come to briefing room 2 immediately." May pressed the button once again and ended the message before slipping her gun into its holster at her side and leaving the sleeping area. She went straight to where she'd been ordered, all the while wondering why she's been called there.
When May reached briefing room 2, she knocked on the door and was told to enter. She opened the door and found Natasha, Clint, Maria, Henderson and Tony waiting for her.
"Come in Agent Ryan and take a seat." Henderson said and motioned to the empty chair between Natasha and Clint, where they were all sitting around a round table in the middle of the room.
May took the seat without saying anything and looked around expectantly at the others, waiting for someone to tell her what was going on.
"You're probably wondering why we called you here this morning. Well, we have some good news for you, your training is complete." Henderson told her. "We feel you have reached a point where you can use your powers sufficiently and the only way to make further development is to put you into a real situation."
"What do you mean... real situation?" May asked, hoping she knew what was coming.
