Two weeks later May was starting to fall into step with life at her old school. It was beginning to get a little easier to pretend to be Daisy. She was also quickly gaining Jessie's trust and friendship, so much so that she was even asked to help plan his father's birthday party.

It was Jessie's greatest honour to be asked to plan it, as he idolises his father and would do whatever he could to please him. However, he had no real idea how to actually organise a party of that size.

The information side of the mission hadn't been as successful as yet. Natasha had been on her back already been on her back about moving things along and the party seemed to be the perfect opportunity to not only snoop out the house for information but also meet anyone who might be useful.

The day of the party came around and May was feeling the pressure, badly, but there was no way she could allow it to get to her.

She decided to wear something simple, that could easily go unnoticed slipping away from the party. Admittedly, the black pencil skirt she wore under an olive green chiffon top, was a little shorter than she would have liked but there wasn't a great deal she could do. She also placed Bruce's microscopic recorder just by her eye and secured a charm bracelet containing a micro usb, a handy lock pick, along with many other gadgets she might been in need of during her evening.

May walked out into the kitchen to find Tony, Bruce and Steve around the wooden table, clearly arguing about where to get takeout.
"So... Do you think this is inconspicuous enough?" May asked the room at large.
"There is no way you can go to a party in that skirt." Steve said after his eyes originally bulged.
"I appreciated the 1940s honour, no showing skin thing but I need to blend into the crowd, remember."
"Don't listen to Captain Virtue over there." Tony remarked "You look nice and should be forgettable. No offence."
"Okay good."
"You got everything you need?" Bruce asked.
"Yeah, got the recorder on, bracelet ready, a dagger in both shoes, should I need them, which I hope I won't and a few other things that might come in handy."

There was a buzzing sound then and May looked at her phone, it was Jack. She answered it and said "Hey." as light as she could.

"We're outside." He told her
"Okay. I'm just coming now. Bye!"
"Bye."

"How's that going with him?"
"As good as it can be. Just because I've accepted the fact that I can never really be his friend, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt."
"I'm sorry May, I wish there was something I could do." Steve said.
"Don't worry about it. This is my life now and nothing is going to change that." With that May headed for the elevator but before the doors closed she heard "Good Luck!" and "Be careful".

Jessie was a nervous wreck when they reached his house, but there was still so much that needed doing, there was no time to reassure him. It didn't take long to set everything up and the confusion of balloons, gave May the chance to scope out some of the doors.

The most nerve wracking moment came when May was introduced to Jessie's parents. His mother: Samantha a tall harsh faced woman with greying tendrils of shoulder length hair and a sore expression on her face. She greeted May, not unkindly but she had the sneaking suspicion that she did like young rich girls that she had not personally picked out, hanging around with her son.

His father on the other hand went out of his way to thank her for helping Jessie with the planning. He looked like an older version of Jessie, which was a little disconcerting for May considering he was the actual target of the whole mission.

the party soon started to fill up with people. May recognised many of them from the S.H.I.E.L.D files. It was almost definite in her mind that he was consorting with these men on much more than in a social capacity. That was the information she needed and there was no better time than to get it.
