Chapter 24

A/N: I'm glad you guys liked that last chapter! I hope you like this one too. I don't plan to drag it out too much father that Brae is unaware of her Mom and Dad being together. :)

Maya POV

This weekend Braelynn has a Gymnastic's meet 3 hours away and since she has to be there early we need to go up the night before and stay in a hotel which her father set up on his own. We could have stayed where everyone else is staying at but he's rich and all so he wanted something better. Lucas and I have been sneaking around for 3 going on 4 weeks now. Riley couldn't be happier for us. She knew the second she seen me after that night of him and I making love for the first time in years that I got laid. I couldn't keep it from her. I left work early today to pull Brae from school and take her home to pack. We had to get her out early so we could get on the road. Lucas was leaving early as well but had a few things to do first at work. His things were already packed and our work was closer to my apartment than to his house. Once we got home we both got to packing.

"Mom can I bring my kindle with me?" Braelynn asked as she came into my bedroom.

"Yes, that's fine but I don't want you on it the entire time." I said to her.

"I know. And I'm almost done packing." she said happily.

"Don't forget your swimsuit if you want to swim at the hotel later." I replied as put more things in my bag.

"Yep I got it already. Are you going to bring yours too so you can swim with me?" she asked as she sat down on my bed.

"I'll bring it but I don't know if I'll swim or not. " I replied.

"I packed my bikini that matches yours so make sure you bring that one." she said with a smile.

"Alright I will bring that one." I smiled. "Go finish getting ready. Your dad will be here soon."

Braelynn left my room and I continued packing. Once done I went to check on her and all her packing was done but she was on her bed on her Kindle. I walked over and sat down beside her on the bed.

"Your Dad will be here soon." I said to her and she looked up at me and smiled.

"I know. I was just getting ready to shut my Kindle off." she replied.

"So you know that just because Dad and I are staying in the same hotel room with you tonight and kind of doing things a family would that it doesn't mean that we are one right?" I asked her. I really wanted to talk to her about this.

"Yes, Mom, I know. I wish we were a family but its okay we're not." she said with a smile.

"Alright. I just wanted to make sure you knew that. I didn't want to have a repeat of what happened before." I said before pulling her into a hug. "I love you love bug."

"Love you too, Mom." she replied.

After Braelynn put her Kindle away we made our way to the living room. Lucas showed up about 10 minutes later and we set off on the road. It was going to be a bit of a trip since we were traveling almost 4 hours away for her meet. At around 5:00 we all started getting hungry and Braelynn wanted Pizzas so Lucas and I took her to Pizza Hut for dinner.

"So are you ready to kill it tomorrow at your meet?" Lucas asked Braelynn.

"Yeah, but I'm a little scared." she replied.

"Scared? Of what?" Lucas asked her.

"I still haven't been able to get a good score on my windmill because I'm scared of being up high so I don't do good on my it." she replied.
