*Zayn’s POV*
Nothing was really the same anymore, at all. It had been a week since the fire and everyone was now out of hospital but that doesn’t been they are well. It had been so hard for everyone.
The flat we had rented out while we searched for a new house seemed empty this morning, completely silent yet everyone was there. I gave Malaikah a last kiss on the head before removing my arm from around her and rest her back on the pillows she was sleeping on; she really needed a sleep in since she had hardly slept since the fire because of nightmares. She had joined us and the others in the flat now because she was struggling alone and her family and us thought it would make it easier…but it’s hardly made any difference.
I walked out in to the living room. The flat was huge but not as big as our old house nowhere near but it was still massive. “Morning.” Liam mumbled rubbing his head taking two paracetamol, I noticed he hadn’t slept much last night again from the large bags under his eyes and the way he rubbed his head showing a obvious headache.
“Morning mate, no sleep again?” He nodded in reply. “Me either.” I felt for Liam we all had someone through this for Louis, Niall and me it was our girlfriends and for Harry it was Rosie but for Liam he had no one, no Nessa.
Just after the fire Nessa was with Liam they were helping each other but then a few days later she was gone saying she did not deserve us and that the fire was all her fault, it wasn’t though, none of this was anyone’s fault but Sam’s.
Ever since she had left Liam struggled more you could just tell by the way he looked always distant looking at his phone or into the space in front of him. It needed to be sorted he didn’t need any more pain. I opened my mouth to speak when Niall walked in.
“Morning.” He mumbled he had quite puffy eyes showing crying from earlier that morning matched with lines and black underneath to show lack of sleep. He sat head resting on the palms of his hands on the breakfast bench. He was struggling too, a lot. Eloise as you can guess was finding it really hard she never spoke and just wanted to lock herself up in her room the whole time, which mean’s Niall was up there as well comforting her but you could see he struggled he hated seeing her upset and the fact he could do nothing to help frustrated him more.
Liam looked at me his eyes showing the same thoughts and sympathy for Niall. “Niall mate it’s going to be okay.” Liam told him joining him at the breakfast bench.
“It’s not though Liam nothing I can say helps anymore, we’re drifting apart and I just can’t lose her right now I’ve already lost one of my best mates!” He kept his head down hiding but his jerking shoulders showed he was crying.
“Mate it’s going to be okay how about we ask Louis to talk to her he’s in the same boat with how long they knew her and he knows El very well.” I suggested Niall sitting up to face us wiping the tears sat on his cheeks away.
“I guess I could try that where is he?” Niall went to stand up to go look for Louis when he walked in.
“Good morning!” He said strolling in acting completely normal, oh god not now Louis. “Great sunny morning isn’t it how about we all go for a lovely walk get some fresh air it’s all so dull in here.” He put the kettle on prancing around as he did. This was Louis this was his way of hiding his pain, to act like nothing has happened, to forget and put on the fake cheery act right until he snaps. He did it last time when Emma left for months.
“Louis, don’t do this now.” I mumbled it caused arguments last time, a lot of them.
“What’s with long face? Turn that frown upside down Niall!” He pulled the side of Niall’s cheeks up to make a smile, crap this is going to end bad Niall was looking madder by the second.
