AURORA

I woke up sweating and realized I had a nightmare I realized pansy and Lily weren't awake yet so I checked the clock. It was actually 4:00 am and classes were not to begin until 6;00 am but I knew I couldn't go back to sleep after that awful nightmare so I decided to get ready. I combed my hair and let it fall just below my waist. I decided to read in the common room. When I noticed Malfoy sitting in the common room as well. "If it isn't little miss Develin. Why are we up so early?" He says. I ignore him and continue reading. "Oh really Develin you're not going to say anything? After all this time we haven't seen each other it wouldn't kill you to have a little conversation with your fellow slytherin and childhood mate " "that's funny Malfoy. why don't you just shut the up and let me continue reading in silence."  entertaining to see him get mad.I wondered what his reaction would be.

"Come on Develin I won't bite just tell me why you're up so early" Draco says. " you know Draco I could ask you the same question" I say with a smirk on my face. I couldn't help but stare into his eyes they were the coolest shade of gray I'd ever seen . I turned my face back into a resentful look. I couldn't let him see through me so easily.

" if you must know. I couldn't sleep."

" did you have a nightmare?" He walks around to the side of me and he leans in and whispers "  you know id be upset too if my father had disappointed the Dark lord.. it's a shame isn't it" he smirks and walks off.

I could feel a burning hatred rise within me. I start to wonder what it would've been like if the hat  sorted me into gryffindor or Ravenclaw or even my last choice... Hufflepuff. How can Draco Malfoy be so awful yet so good looking. Especially to bring up my dead father... he has nerve.

DRACO P.O.V

I awoke early because it was very bright in what I had hoped would be a dim room that I shared with Blaise Zabini my best mate. And my friends Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle. I walked out into the common room to practice some spells when I see Aurora develin walk in. She wasn't bad to look at compared to the girls I've seen. She couldn't even compare to Pansy Parkinson. There was something about Aurora that seemed different to me. The last time I had seen her was on winter holiday at another one of mothers Christmas balls.

She wasn't as pretty when we were little but she certainly... changed.

We knew each other through our parents when we were just kids. Her father died before we were born which is just tragic really. When I saw her in the dining hall yesterday I was so shocked by her looks that the only thing I could say was some shallow remark because I didn't want to admit what I really thought in front of my mates. What a coward I am.

She walks in and I ask her why she was up so early but she responded quite rudely which I have to say I found quite surprising. Her hair was shiny and her skin had a glow to it that wasn't there before. and she looked good...I guess I could understand why she would be rude to me when I insulted her yesterday.

I was starting to lose sight of who I need to be around her and the others so I settled with making a remark about her dad just to piss her off. I'm not gonna change anything for a girl.
