Chapter 6

In my dream I was running. I didn't know what it was, or who. All I knew was I needed to run. So, I ran.

"Valerie," Someone sang. "Valerie."

I came to an abrupt stop. Who was that?

"Valerie, your brother needs to speak with you," The voice sang.

I heard a growling behind me. I turned around just in time to see a big grey wolf jump at me.

Valerie's P.O.V.

I sat up quickly in a bed that I didn't recognize. Who's bed is this? I looked around the room I was in. Everett's room. I guess I fell asleep after he marked me. Where was he though?

"VALERIE!" Someone screamed from down stairs, "GET DOWN HERE!" It sounded like Jackson.

I sighed and made my way down stairs. He was in the kitchen.

"What?" I asked him while still rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"Ryder is on the computer," He pointed to a screen with Ryder’s face on it.

Ryder's P.O.V.

I had to admit I was missing my sister. She has never been gone for more than a night and I feel the need to protect her. Yes, I know she is all grown up, but she will always be my little sister. She will always be my responsibility because I care for her.

"What?" A very sleepy Valerie asked to the side. I couldn't see her yet.

"Ryder is on the computer," Jackson told her.

She came into view with a very angry looking face.

"What?" I asked her innocently.

"I've only been gone two days. Do you seriously not trust me?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"I trust you," I smiled.

She rolled her eyes, "So what's up?"

"Just checking up on you," I smiled again.

"Soo... In other words... You don't trust me."

"No! I trust y..." I stopped when I noticed something on her neck. "What is that?"

"What is what?" She looked down at her shirt.

"That, on your neck." I pointed at the screen.

She pushed her hair over it, "Nothing."

"Stop lying to me Val!" My brows creased together, "Who is her? I want to meet him!"

Jackson came into view on the screen, "Don't worry dude. He's my right hand man. I trust him with my life."

Valerie slapped him upside the head, "You idiot!"

"Ow, that hurt."

"Good maybe it will knock some sense into you."

She stuck her tongue out at him as he walked away.

"I want to meet him," I demanded.

She looked at me with her jaw dropped and her arms crossed. "I am not letting you meet him!"

"Why not?"

"Well, sorry Mr. Forgetful. But as I remember it, you didn't tell me when you found your mate. I had to find out from everyone else!" She yelled the last part.

I had nothing to say to that because it was true.

"Valerie!" Someone yelled off in the distance.

Her face lit up, "Yea?" Then she frowned, "Hold on a minute!"

"Who's that? Valerie let me speak with him!" I demanded again.

"No!" She yelled, "Now how the hell do you turn this thing off?"

"Press the escape key!" Jackson said laughing.

"Valerie!" I just got in as the connection was cut off and she was gone. Uggg, if I wasn't going to become alpha in a few days I would fly over there myself.

Valerie's P.O.V.

The screen went black just as Everett stepped into the kitchen.

"Who was that?" He asked.

I sighed, "My idiot brother."

Jackson laughed, I glared at him.

"Can I meet him?" Everett asked.

"N... N... Not yet," I couldn't say no, he's my mate after all.

Jackson fell to the ground laughing.

I walked over to him and kicked him. Then I walked away to the living room.

"Valerie what's wrong?" Everett was following me.

I plopped down on the couch and my phone started to ring.

"Hello?"  I answered.

"Valerie," My brothers voice sounder angry. So I hung up and called Mary. I need her to calm him down before he runs here by himself. Trust me, he will do it.

She answered quickly.

"Hey Val!"

"Hey Mary!" I smiled as Everett plopped down beside me.

"How can I help ya?" She asked.

"How did you know I needed you to do something for me?"

"I just do," I could hear the smile in her voice.

"Okay, well I know you will love this one." We both laughed, "I need you to have sex with my brother."

She laughed, "Why?"

"I need him to calm down. To get his mind off me so he doesn't come running to beat me up." I said with all seriousness. "I know you two do it all the time, but you need to pull him out of his office, or stay in there, and have sex."

"What did you do this time?"

"This time it's actually his fault." I said angrily.

"It's both your faults," Jackson yelled at me. He came into the room and sat down with his mate on a different couch.

"Who's that?" Mary asked.

"My idiot cousin, Jackson. Now will you please get him to stop bugging me," I fake sniffled.

"Fine," She caved. "I'll do it. But not for you."

"Ew, I don't want to know why." I hung up the phone.

"I don't get you," Everett chuckled. "But that's one of the things that I love about you."

I laughed, "Good because I'm a hard puzzle to figure out."

We kissed.

"Ewwwww!!!" Jackson yelled like a little girl.

I glared at him while Everett laughed. His mate smacked him on the chest.

Oh mt god I'm done!!!! So sorry for not updating in so long my life was being teporarrily sucked into a black hole. I hope you all had a good first day of school, mine wasn't too bad. :)
