Mysterious Hero

Chapter 4- Battle Training

     Today's the day of the special class with All Might.  I was pretty excited to be honest.  The day went by and it was time for our hero courses.
     Aizawa-sensei, looking dead as ever, walked into the classroom. 
     "Alright class, settle down.  All Might will be here in a minute, and when he is, your Battle training will begin.  Go ahead and get the hero costumes you designed when you applied." he said. Everyone was excited and hastily retrieved their costumes out of the high tech shelf in the wall.
     The one I designed was simple really.  I had a black, long-sleeve crop top, (f/c) fishnet gloves, and tight (f/c), flexible leather pants, and combat boots with little chains.  I had a (silver or gold) belt that shimmered in light.  (Authors note• I have an image in my mind and I'm in the works of drawing it.  It will be posted soon. 😊)
     You could say I was going crazy with the bling, but all of it was soundless, even the chains. All of a sudden, we hear some noises outside the classroom.
"HEREIAMENTERINGTHECLASSROOMLIKEANORMALPERSON!"he called, slamming the door open. He said that so fast it was barely distinguishable.  "Today, I am your instructor!  We will undergo battle training at ground Beta!  Quickly change into your battle gear and meet on the bus!" With that explanation, he left the room.  All of us, still in shock of just having All Might in the same room as us, was buzzing with joy. I shook it off and was the first person to leave the classroom.

     The girls locker room was chilly, but the girls didn't complain much.
     "You know what we should do!?" Mina exclaimed.
     "We should have a slumber party!" Momo answered.  The girls cheered as they continued to change.  I edged my way over to the wall because I didn't want to get involved.  Since I wasn't interested in making friends, I dismissed the conversation from my mind.
     But Tsuyu pulled me back in.
     "Are you coming to the sleepover?" she asked, curious in why I was separating myself from the group.  I was bluntly honest.
     "I'm not interested, so probably not." I say.  The girls look at me with sad expressions.  Although I had little desire for people to care for me, I couldn't stop myself from caring for others.
     "What did we do for you to hate us so much?" Hagakure whimpered.  I could see tears forming in some of the girls eyes. 
     "L-Look!  There's no need to feel sad!" I frantically say, dropping my poker face.  My words did little to help.  Mina and Hagakure were already crying along with a teary Ochako.  "Okay, fine.  I'll stop by, just stop looking at me like that!" I gave in.  One by one, the girls eyes lit up and even though she was invisible, I could tell Hagakure was smiling.
     "YAY!!" They all exclaimed.  'What did I get myself into?' I thought.  Maybe I should lighten up a little.  Mina hugged me after informing everyone that the party will be at her house.  I was the first girl to finish, since my costume was the simplest, despite Hagakure. I walked to the bus while securing my hair into a tight ponytail.

     We waited at the dark entrance.  Even though it was dark, I could feel some eyes on me. It made me uncomfortable, so I tried to shift to the wall. I ended up bumping into someone.
"My apologies." he said. I instantly knew it was the one and only, Shōto Todoroki. He was the only one, besides me, that spoke in a monotonous voice. From the first day, I've always thought he was handsome. But I ignored it and focused on my training.
Although, Katsu was a distraction.
"It was my fault, I'll move out of your way." I atoned. I shoved my way to the back of the crowd, and found Midoryia fidgeting with his gloves. I approached him in a calm manner and placed my hand on his shoulder. He jumped at the contact.
"You need to stop being so nervous when there's no reason to be. You'll be fine." I comforted.
"I-I know. It's just..." he trailed off. The thought of his quirk came to mind. 'I think I know why he's so fidgety. It's because if he uses his quirk, he'll be rendered useless.' I concluded.
"Use it only when you think it's necessary." I say. He faces me with wide eyes. "Come up with a plan that doesn't involve your quirk. And even when you decide to use it, you have to be calm. Sometimes your emotions can effect your quirk." I explained. I removed my hand off of his shoulder as he nods in agreement.
After that little exchange, we started walking towards ground Beta. The blinding light makes it almost impossible to see. Against my will, I squint, forcing my eyes to adjust to the light. I look around to see Uraraka and Midoryia already talking, the guy blushing furiously as Uraraka is completely clueless. Look around to see the grenades red eyes on me, studying my figure, but gets flustered and turns away. I look over his flashy costume with amusement. Letting curiosity run through me as I stare at the green devices swallowing his forearms. 'I guess it has a use, but I wonder what it is.' I think. I then set my (e/c) orbs on Todoroki. The left part of his body is covered by ice, with only a red peephole to see out of. 'Weird. How is he going to use his fire?' I ask myself. All Might then calls our attention.
"Alright young ones! We will be splitting up into groups of two! One being the hero, the other being the villains! I will now draw each team!" He pulled out a box. Izuku and Uraraka goes up against Katsu and Iida. 'They have the poorest luck in the world.' I felt bad for Midoryia because if he's going up against Bakugou, he'll have to use his weird quirk.
"Shōto Todoroki and (f/n) (l/n) as hero's and Tora Hagakure and Mashirao Ojiro as villains!" I guess I'm with Todoroki. We make eye contact. Neither one of us breaks it. He narrowed his hetero-colored eyes, as if he was trying to break into my mind. I do the same as I cross my arms. He suddenly turns his head away, blocking his face with the ice part of his outfit.
'What's his deal?' I thought innocently. All Might interrupted the communes that was going on with a loud, "BEGIN!"
The students reach an area with a monitor. Izuku was battling Katsu, as predicted, while Iida was making a fool out of himself, making Uraraka expose herself. The battle reached its climax when Katsu laid an idiotic explosion that could've killed someone. Poor Midoryia used his quirk and was sent to Recovery Girl. The heros ironically won in the end. Battles were on one after another until it was our turn. Me and Todoroki haven't spoken to each other since earlier, when he apologized. We arrived at the gate. He then looked at me, a tiny hint of red visible on his cheeks. I thought he was going to tell me his plan but instead, his words just shocked me.
