Chapter 12 - Popcorn Problems

I opened my eyes and the first thing I see his a large house with white and red rose bushes, absolutely nothing like the one online.
'I guess I was lucky, huh?' I thought. Am I at the correct location? I should be because the shape, size and color of the house didn't change. It was all Japanese styled and there were some bamboo chimes and scrolls hung up on the porch of the house. And not to mention the red maple tree in the side of the house that has grown much bigger than the one I saw in the picture.  'I could've died! Thanks internet.'
My quirk allows me to travel places where I've seen or where people are. But if I see a place that doesn't exist and/or replaced with another building, then I would be lost in space and time with no chance of getting out. So basically, I would've been in Bardo, which is a dimension between life and death. And believe me, no one wants that.
I walk up to the fancy house and right when I was about to knock on the door, I heard yelling.
"Where do you think you're going young man?" A booming voice echoed. 'That must be Endeavor.' I think. I step to the side of the hinge and pressed my ear against the door.
"To a friends. Is there a problem?" Asked the all too well known Prince Todoroki.
"Yes there's a problem! You need to be focusing on your life choices! Not messing around with insects!" Endeavor yelled, "You'll never become Top hero with those kinds of-"
"She's not an insect." Shoto deadpanned.
"Haah? It's a girl as well? I expected better from the someone with MY blood running through their veins! You ungrateful whore!" I heard a loud thud after that. And I hated that I knew what it was.
It was Prince Todoroki getting slammed against the wall.
I wanted to go in there and give them a piece of my mind. However, I didn't have too. I heard footsteps and I leaped off the porch onto the grass and straightened myself out before the door opened.
It was Todoroki with a black bag slung on his shoulder. He was wearing gray joggers and a baby blue long sleeved shirt and brown sandals that exposed his feet.
"May I add, she has the highest scores in class." And with that, he slammed the door behind him, left the porch and greeted the horrified yet confused me on the grassy yard.
"Shall we go?" He said, wincing at the pain of his bruised jaw. I nodded and took his cold hand into mine. He seemed surprised by the action.
"Close you eyes and don't open till I say so," I ordered. He nodded and closed his eyes. I did the same and imagined my living room.

~~TIME SKIP~~

We were sitting at the counter in the bar stools. I made some coffee since neither of us could sleep. It was quiet in the house, the only sound heard was our uneven breathing. Well, my uneven breathing. It was as if Shoto was lifeless. The bruise on his left temple and jawline only makes him seem more of a corpse.
But I couldn't blame him. He did just get beaten by his son-of-a-bitch father, so it's natural to be too scared to make a sound. I know he doesn't think he's scared, but by the way he gripped his mug full of creamy coffee, brows drawn together in an intense stare at nothing, absolutely motionless. All points to fear.
I sat up and went for the fridge, unintentionally reeling The Prince from his mind. I pulled out a bar of butter wrapped in wax paper and set it beside the stove. I then retrieved a small pan used to cook little meals and placed it on the heated ring of the stove I turned on minutes ago. I then unwrap the butter and throw it in the pan.
"What are you doing?" The heterocolored boy asked, watching me carefully as I scoured the cabinet for a salty snack.
"Popcorn. I'd rather spend all night watching movies than staring into space with insomnia," I said bluntly. I found two bags of popcorn and put them both in the big microwave able to hold three full dinner plates. Seriously, who needs that?
I glanced at the butter which was melting slowly but steadily. I turned around to see the boy eyeing me with curiosity.
     "What?" I asked, confused.
"Your hair is down," he said. And that's when I noticed how my (h/c) locks must've been a mess. I looked down to see a hair tie on my wrist, but as I was gathering my hair to put up, something came out of Todoroki's mouth. "Leave it down. It's more beautiful that way."
A blush unwillingly found my face and I was beet red, but I did as he said and left it down, adjusting it to where it was comfortable. I turned back to the microwave when it beeped so loud someone from another planet could've heard it. I yanked open the little door and pulled the bags carefully out of the container. I poured both into separate bowls, since I liked mine with a lot of butter. Speaking of which has already melted so I turned off the stove.
"How much butter do you want?" I ask.
"Doesn't matter. Whatever's left over." He said.
"So none?" I joked, he surprisingly chuckled a bit.
"Don't hog all of it." He said with a smiled and I smiled back without much hesitation. I poured the butter in both of our bowls and guided both of us to the sofa in front of the TV in the living room. We settled on an action movie and got comfortable on the couch. We were fairly close to each other but not so close to where we're touching.
We stayed there for a couple of hours, popcorn all gone with movie after movie.
It was 3 in the morning and we were watching a horror movie, one of my favorite genres since it can scare me and make me laugh while looking back on the time. We were watching one of my favorite old classics, The Grudge.
I hadn't realized how close we had gotten until I suddenly snaked my arms around Shoto's. And it seemed to take him by surprise because he looked down at me with worried eyes. He leaned forward and paused the movie when he grabbed the remote and leaned back.
"Why'd you do that?" I asked, pouting. He held my gaze for a moment before answering.
"Why'd you insist on a horror film if you were gonna get scared?" He asked back.
"I love this movie because it makes me scared. That's what a good movie does." I simply said. "And plus," I added, "I've seen this movie a hundred times."
He looked at me for a good solid minute and I glared back, my gaze saying 'just play the damn movie.'
"Here." He said. He freed and wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling my form closer to his chest. My knees were against my chest before the movie even started, so they kind of collapsed on his lap when he did that. I couldn't create words before he played the movie once again. It took me a while for me to process what happened but then I realized when another jump scare came, I gripped the boy's shirt as reflex.
'He did that to comfort me...' I answered my own question. A small smile found my lips as I snuggled closer to the warm human beside me.
"Thank you, Prince Shoto." I said before involuntarily falling asleep on the baffled boy.

Authors Note • Here's another one. Just a filler though. Sorry, I haven't. Been motivated enough to write. I'll fix it though.
