Introduced to 'Evil'

"Congratulations!!" They made a cake. A pretty terrible one, sloppily produced with bits of frosting all over the place.

And it said 'Happy Anniversary Chelsea x Mark'?

"We stole the cake from a bakery...we handled the box poorly," Hikage told me, as I smirked. But the feeling of earlier didn't go away.

I still had regrets of defeating the Hanzō girls, despite clearly being successful. Suzune was especially pleased by my ease of wasting five elite good Shinobi at once. But considering the perverted blonde and the weakling pinkette, I have yet to see it as progress.

And that boy, with the memories of the enemy ringing in the back of my mind. They weren't as terrible as the girls of Hebijo described. They were...flawed. They bled like us, they laughed like us, they...cried like us.

Is there really that much of a difference between good and evil Shinobi? It seems less likely with what I know now.

But would they believe it?

"Alright...go ahead, enjoy," I said to a young homeless pair of twins. Yomi wanted me to join in again with her usual trip to the poorest areas of the town, mainly distributing food, and welfare.

As enjoyable as it seemed, I kept thinking about the differences. If this was 'evil', why is selflessness a good trait? Was it because of profession? I do know that evil Shinobi tend to acquire jobs in assassination and criminal activity. But seeing the bean sprout enthusiast actively do something so..well...good, it confused me.

"Alright that's a wrap! If we can make to the supermarket, we might get to the sale on produce," Taking a notebook from her cleavage, she scribbled the current budget. She was good at this sort of thing, making sure we had a nice range of income, and limiting our spending to the necessities.

"We are moving rather quickly...may I ask what so important that we are rushing to so many places?" She only rolled her eyes at me.

"We have vacation dum-dum, we'll need to prepare. Especially with Homura...honestly really stupid," Yomi chuckled at that. "It's endearing though..."

"Yeah. Passion is definitely there,"

"Wish she'd use her brain more than her heart though; we wasted good yen on beef and pork. We'll need to cut back if we want to break even this week...maybe buy in bulk, yet...hrm..." Watching Her think about the spending made me smirk a little. She has this habit, often making a face whenever she is thinking about saving and spending.

But...I can't help but feel the anger she has is misplaced. I know from her words, Ikaruga was nothing but a snobbish prick leeching off the poor. But from the swords-woman's memories...it was nothing like that.

Perhaps I should tell her this. It'd be better than discussing to the entire team all at once.

"Erm...Yomi-chan. I have to talk to you," I sighed, looking at her as she closed the planner. "It's about Ikaruga,"

"Uh, What? I already told you how I feel-"

"No, it's just...during the fight...I think I saw her memories. All of them, but what's important is that...she is adopted," She had disbelief on her face, before grumbling something. "I know you see her as a noble bitch, but hear me out,"

"Kagemitsu. Are you really going to tell me she isn't that bad?! I know enough about her from our fights; she sees me as a peasant. So I don't care if she is adopted or somehow her mother's sister, it won't change anything! C'mon, the sale is this way..." I only stared at her as she walked. Yomi clearly is stubborn, unwilling to listen to anything that challenges her notion of Ikaruga being sympathetic.
