I peeked around the corner,
as you walked in.
Noticing,
the clouds that parted and
revealed the smiles that sprouted from the
corners of droopy flowers.
Watching,
as you flew from one family darling to the next,
exchanging bright moony kisses with
painted lips and trimmed mustaches,
joyous heartbeats as one.
Looking
with eyes like half filled jars that drank
in the sight of firmly sewn embraces
and masculine jabs.
Fingers leaving red resonances within a child's memory,
a beautiful image.
Grinning
inwardly, at your ridiculous show of
rash entertainment.
Feeling,
the warmth from your heart and mind,
wishing to only get closer to a message.
Envisioning
the sweep of your hands as they caress
the boiling flesh over my heart, smoothing.
All of it, just..
admiring
from afar.
As is the case of one so hopelessly
of the question and not the answer.
Turning
away from searching tendrils
as your sparkling eyes edge in gray,
brow wrinkled in confusion.
Closing
the door quietly behind me,
I open the one to my left,
and cross my fingers for a new chance.
Ending
a tale of a girl who gave up
a possibility within reach,
before she even tried.
