Renee's POV

I sighed as I plopped down on the dusty seats of the old, battered school bus. I looked around and wasn't surprised to see I was the only one on the bus again. I was actually hoping that Blake would be on the bus today like he has been for the past week, but obviously his car had gotten fixed.

I know, it's silly of me to want him to be on the bus when I've never even had a conversation with  him but it isn't my fault I felt oddly attracted to the guy.

Stop thinking about him. I scolded myself.

I didn't like that I was basically becoming like every other girl at school and swooning over the man-whore. Yeah, it had gotten around school quickly what Blake and Amber Lee had done in the janitor's closet on the first day of school. I couldn't help but feel angry towards Amber but also hurt like he betrayed me in some way which was complete rubbish because Blake and I weren't even friends.

Right when the bus was about to pull out someone's hand stopped the bus's door from closing. I looked up to meet those gorgeous blue eyes I had become accustomed to.

Ah, so he was gonna be on the bus today.

I couldn't help it as happiness began to bubble up inside of me.  Maybe he would sit with me today? I watched as he walked past me , not once glancing up at me as he stalked towards the back of the bus to his usual seat. All hope left my body as quickly as it came as I looked down at my hands. I couldn't help but feel a bit hurt by his actions after what happened on the first day he rode the bus , he's been avoiding me like the plague.

I propped my feet up on the seat and wrapped my arms around my knees as  I plugged in my music and blasted Linkin Park into my white headphones. I sat still as the bus roared to life and started its way down the road.

I stared out the window at the forest beside the road, avoiding awkward eye contact with Blake. Who was I kidding? People like him don't talk to people like me. That's the way it's always been and always will be, but why was I so upset at the thought of him never talking to me?

My small phone buzzed in the pocket of my jeans waking me up out of my thoughts, I jumped in shock looking around to see if Blake had caught my bizarre movement. I groaned internally as I met eyes with him. He was staring at me curiously as if trying to read me or something. I couldn't help but find it a bit creepy as I turned back around and took my phone out my pocket.

It was just a text from Derek . 'Hey, we need to talk tonight when you get back from school. Love you, hope you have a good day. -Derek xx'

I texted him back quickly telling him okay and that I loved him too.

"Who's Derek?" A voice said from right behind me. A shiver ran up my spine as Blake's breath on my neck gave me small goosebumps.

How does he have that affect on me?

I turned around to be met with a furious looking Blake standing over me trying to read my text messages. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as the shock of him talking to me quickly faded away. Why did he look so angry? I hadn't done anything wrong.

I took out my headphones and set them gently in my lap before looking back up to his smoldering blue eyes. I couldn't help but get lost in them when I stared in to them. I quickly shook my head free of all thoughts as I cleared my throat to answer.
