The day me and Calum escaped from school, was also the day two people escaped life.
Unwillingly, but still gone.
Caspar and Alex were like cousins to me ; you don't see them much, but you love them like siblings.
The door to my room remained locked for who knows how long. But everyday, a tiny, timid knock could be heard on the other side.
I never answered the knock.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
There it is.
Moments passed, heavy breathing and slight ruffles of feathers could be heard from the other side. A miserable, lonely sigh that belonged to Calum was the last noise I heard from the other side.
Half an hour after Calum's daily attempt to make me feel better, I rose from the bed.
Twisting the handle, cracking the door open slightly, my puffy red eyes peeked out the minuscule gap.
There, on the floor lay something usually insignificant, yet meant a whole lot to me.
A singular Oreo.
Taking the small cookie in my hand, I pushed the door shut again.
Falling back against the door, sliding down, I sighed.
Not sadly.
Not emptily.
Angrily.
I was angry at whoever killed Caspar and Alex.
I was angry at Caspar and Alex for dying.
I was angry at Annalea and Lauren for not attending the last football practice.
I was angry at Dad for always working.
I was angry at Calum for being an angel, making it impossible for me to confess my love for him.
I was angry at the world for being the world.
In my internal rage, all that was left of the Oreo was crushed, sweaty debris.
Guiltily sweeping it into the bin, I crawled under the bed covers again.
Pulling the blanket around me, I tried to blank out the world. Make it go away. Go to a dimension where everything is perfect.
Where my friends are alive.
Where my Mum is alive.
Where Dad is always there.
Where I can call Calum mine.

I have a feeling you guys are going to kill me after this is finished :/
No, I'm not killing Calum off.
He's already dead.
