Chapter 1: Interrogation

Luxury Villa 11

 Aquarius Resort 

March 2

 0900 hours 

It was 9am. I had just woken up and I already had business to attend to. The interrogation. We had finally captured Joshua Hallal. Although, to be fair, we had only captured him because he fell down a cenote. The interrogation was being held in Erica Hale's room next to mine. Erica Hale was the most beautiful, smart, and deadly girl I'd ever met. I quickly made myself presentable and dashed to her room. I knew how Erica was about time. "You're late." she said coldly. Her tone was colder than usual, which made me wonder if something was wrong. I looked at her, expecting her to give me her standard cold glare. But her glare, which was significantly colder than usual, was directed at Joshua.

 Everyone else, except Cyrus Hale (Erica's grandfather), gave me a much warmer welcome. I was aware that Joshua and Erica had been very close during his time at spy school. But after she found out that he had turned evil, Erica, well, hated him was an understatement. "Hey Smokescreen!" my best friends Mike Brezinski and Zoe Zibbel chorused. The room erupted into chatter. "This is an interrogation, not a birthday party!" Erica snapped. "Let's get to it." Cyrus ordered. "So this is how it's gonna go. Each one of you kids will ask this scumbag a question." Cyrus declared. "Not you, Murray." he added when he saw Murray's hopeful face. He sighed, disappointed. Murray was a sloppy, fat, dark-haired, 15-year old boy. He used to work with SPYDER, but decided to help us take them down after they had tried to kill him. However, none of us trusted him yet. "So, Mr. Head in The Clouds, are you going to ask him a question or not? You're first." Erica's voice snapped me out of my dreamland.

 "Ok, ok, I'll ask him something." I said. I walked up to Joshua and asked "What is SPYDER planning?" "I will only say one thing." Joshua said. "Our plan takes place in Britain." Joshua's words were met with shocked silence. After a few moments, Catherine Hale(Erica's mom who worked for the MI6) whispered, horrified, "Britain?" I looked over at Erica, her eyes were wide and her face was a little pale, which meant she was very concerned. Which also made me think we were doomed, because very concerned was an awful lot of emotion for Erica. Even Cyrus looked worried. Meanwhile, Joshua was looking at Catherine and Erica, a smug look on his face. I had a sinking feeling. "My capture was part of SPYDER's plans all along!" Joshua exclaimed, and erupted in laughter. My sinking feeling was confirmed. Joshua's remaining arm and leg weren't broken, just bruised, which made things much worse. "Don't worry," Joshua chuckled. "SPYDER won't get me back until 4pm. Continue the interrogation." he sneered. "After all, Erica's next." 

"This has gotta be interesting." Mike whispered to me and Zoe. Mike was sitting in between me and Zoe, which was odd, because Zoe had said she had a crush on me not Mike. Either way, it didn't matter, I had decided I liked Erica more anyway. Erica walked up to Joshua and asked him, "Why did you betray the CIA?" There was hurt in her voice, but there was also anger, hatred, and betrayal. "What you're really asking me is why I betrayed you and the Hales, right?" He sneered. Erica took a knife from it's holster on her utility belt and pressed it to his throat, "Answer me!" she hissed. "Maybe you'll find out soon." Joshua replied vaguely.
